As a parent who just wasted thousands on a lawyer over a school problem. The courts have no authority over the school board - not the majistrate we went in front of. Go to the head of the school board or call the media and be a thorn in thier side. Our taxes are thier paycheck so more ppl need to speak up instead of just accepting being blown off.

This school is an excellent school for some...... the advanced student in the Cambridge program only! I have a SPECIAL ED student who has a diagnosed problem and is low in reading and has made a 1 on the fcat four years in a row. Just because that has to have a 90 min reading block which is unfair....How about 1 reading class instead!!! He was forced to quit orchestra because he has so many reading classes. He gets NO ACTIVITIES PE band orchestra NOTHING! I think the educators need to rethink this. No child should have to take 7 straight classes without an activity.

I have a child in 7th grade at Jackson. I am partial to the school because I went there as well however the administration refuses to do what needs to be done about bullies and violence. My daughter has been victim several times and even the resource officer defends the offender. If something else happens I will be suing them. Everything reported gets swept under the carpet. When I contacted the school board I was referred back to the school who were very unhappy with me for contacting the superintendant's office. I am very pleased with the acedemic aspect of Jackson and the teachers have been great.

MY MOTHER TEACHES AT THIS SCHOOL AND IS A WONDERFUL TEACHER! THE PARENTS NEED TO START GETTING INVOLVED AND REALIZING THE ISSUES! THEIR IS A WEBSITE THE SCHOOL SYSTEM HAS THAT POSTS GRADES AND LESSON PLANS. PARENTS NEED TO START OWNING UP AND TAKING MORE RESPONSIBILITY AND REALIZE ITS NOT ALWAYS THE SCHOOLS DOING. THANK YOU. O YA AND I HAVE TWO CHILDREN OF MY OWN AND ONE IS IN SCHOOL.

This school fails to act to protect its students. It allows bullying and quotes technicalities to prevent disciplinary action. Florida public schools are mandated by law to ensure each student is afforded a hostile-free learning environment in which they can gain a proper education. Jackson however is more concerned with their school board rating than taking the hard stance against student violence. If you want your child bullied mistreated and unprotected enroll them in Jackson.

terrible communication at this school...my daughter was pulling straight F s and parents not even notified.....lack of parent envolvement is encouraged here unless you are part of the A team ...lack of care and concern emailed every teacher and principal with my concerns with my daughters f s and only had one response

The guidance counselor there is the most caring thoughful special person to be in such a position. The school is fortunate to have her and so are the kids!!!!!!!!!!!!

The school offers an excellent program for advanced students. My daughter enrolled in the Cambridge Checkpoint program this year. We have been very pleased with the classes. The students are challenged but not bombed with homework. They also have an excellent band program.

This school has been horrible for me. I have endured absolute terror here it has encouraged discrepancies in my supposedly sound mental health and I know of another student whom has endured this as well. It got so bad that I had to be homeschooled (provided by the school) for the rest of the year after October. I've returned for this year (the above events happening last year) and it seems like it's the same thing over again. I would not recommend this school to ANYBODY - and not simply because I dislike school. Personally I love to learn. This school has scarred me badly enough that I am STILL not fully recovered.

I have a child entering the 7th grade and one going into the 8th. I love this school and feel that the staff and faculty want the best for our students. However I am very concerned about the safety of my children. I can not believe the number of fights this past year. I am also concerned about the way the kids dress especially the boys who refused to wear belts.

My child is a 7th grader at the school. The quality of academic programing is acceptable and well organized. The school is rated A by the state for academics. My concerns are with the security of students. I know the the staff tries to monitor these problems but I am so concerned that my child will not be attending this school next year.
