Wisconsin Student Assessment System (WSAS)

In 2011-2012 Wisconsin used the Wisconsin Student Assessment System (WSAS), which includes the WKCE and WAA, to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in math and reading, and in grades 4, 8 and 10 in language arts, science and social studies. The WSAS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Wisconsin. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

Grafton offers way above average shop and autos classes for the student who may not be geared toward a 4 year college. The teachers are awesome! Having a student with some learning disabilities I have found that most of the teachers are very willing to help and accommodate if necessary. I have found great support with the staff and the classes. We don't live in this district but were fortunate enough to be able to do "open enrollment" and feel that it is an excellent fit for our student he has excelled in the areas that will be beneficial to him in his life career.

As an alum of GHS (ten years ago) I can say I received a very average education. I can think of two teachers in my four years who prepared me for college and to be a critical thinker. When I got to college in Chicago I found myself behind. GHS is great is great if you are an athlete but if you participate in the arts the school is not as likely to support you the same way. The diversity factor is also missing. While there are not many private high school choices in Grafton GHS will do the job but just to "check the boxes."

Grafton High School Grafton Wisconsin has a staff and Principal that are the type of role models students and parents look up to. As a potential "parent" I went in clueless needing information guidance and assistance. The staff and Principal not only took time from their very busy schedules but went above and beyond to assist me and answer all the questions I had. I very much looking forward to my family being a part of this friendly and helpful environment.
