As the parent of an Alvirne student I am disgusted with what goes on what goes on in this school. My daughter has been bullied for two years now and nothing gets done. Mr. Beals just brushed it off like it was nothing. Recently a student created a hit list . Students don't feel safe. K

The school has deteriorated fast over the last two years. There is no leadership within the building. The principal has no interest in communicating with staff. He acts like one of the kids and lets them do whatever they please. This has created a mess. Grafiti on our building in and out more fights more drugs alcohol at events etc. There is no accountability for students. And no support for staff. Alvirne was the best place to work and learn until Principal Beals arrived.

Alvirne High School is a wonderfully developed school. Aside from the lack of public funding Alvirne is very involved in the community and takes a great deal of pride in its students. It has a brilliant principle Mr. Lane and it has a fa nominal academic curriculum. Alvirne is a public high school that has a vocational wing which boasts an onsite farm restaurant florist kennel Hallmark store and much more.

I have to say I am pleased with this high school. My daughter's teachcers this year were FABULOUS! I cannot show or express my appreciation and respect for all them. They are there when you need them and the staff will help you to succeed if you do ask. They were patient and caring and I have to say Thank you to all of you. The principal is in every acitivity. His involvment have made AHS a better place to be and to learn. I have hope for the football team. The director of the Sports department very caring and professional. The extracurriculums actvities and clubs are there for everyone to join. Please do they are fantastic and you meet so many people and make your HS experience a memorable one.

I transferred to Alvirne my junior year and was absolutely blown away. Coming from a smaller less established school i was impressed by all of the class options and levels as well as other opportunities in sports and clubs. I found Alvirne to be much better suited to my needs and I feel it prepared me well for college. The teachers principal and guidance staff are all willing to listen and help if you are willing to put yourself out there and ask. I'm incredibly happy with everything I got out of Alvirne in my time there.

This is not a pro-active school nor are many of its faculty problem solvers when issues are brought to their attention.

Alvirne is absolutely excellent. It is an awesome school with so many opportunities for all its students. There are many extra-curricular activities and the academic programs are superb. I especially love the foreign language department and its French program. Overall this school is excellent and exceeds many standards.

I am a Freshmen at Alvirne. This school is much better than the middle school that I was attending in Lawrence Ma. The cirriculum is much much higher which has proven difficult for me and I feel that I'm taken care of to the max. The teachers are freindly and make your day glide by and there are so many after school programs and clubs that your mind would jam just trying to write them all down. The security is exallent with officer downy and Mr. Lane cares about his students so much that he checks ever report card and progress report that gets sent out. Techers like Mr. Miller are to be reaspected for their strive to help kids get the best education they can recive. Studio 19 news gets the day up and going with their funny segments. There is no doubt that this is the best school.

This was a great high school! There are many after school activities to keep the kids busy and out of trouble and the academics are great.

Alvirne high school is a great school. The vocational programs are very good and the guidance department is excellent. The guidance staff is outstanding. I've never seen a group of such caring people. They go up and beyond for the students and are always there to help everyone including the rest of the faculty. They really take the time to get to know all of the student. There was a Crisis counselor at the school but that position was cut out of the budget. (the Hudson school board is very disfunctional!!) Because of the faculty staff and guidance department the school is great!

I attend this high school was apart of the student council and was able to graduate early in january of my senior year. All I had to do was take 2 english classes the first semester. I was also able to go to college that same month (the spring semester) becuase of that option. I loved all the different vocational programs which prep the students for different majors in college and the teachers are extremely nice and understanding. However the school does need new elevators and more reasonable handicapped access. Also the food wasn't all that great. Other than that the students are very nice and it is very easy to make honest friends.

This school is a great option for both children with their minds on college preparations and also those kids who are thinking of going into a trade. I know I was able to utilize the Preschool and discovered that was not something I was interested in which is as valuable as knowing what I am interested in. The principal seems to genuinely care about the students and the school; Alvirne has improved in leaps and bounds since Mr. Lane has been there! Overall I would say it's a great public high school there are many options for different types of students but there aren't so many that your child will get lost in the crowd. I recommend visiting I'm sure you'll be blown away by the caring staff and the clean school and also the expansive athletic fields and amount of school spirit!

I personally did think that there was not enough help for the students with problems they might have out of school. They were forced to deal with all the hardships of being teenagers on their own. This causing many of them to do more poorly than if they may have had some guidance.
