Regents Exams (RE)

In 2011-2012 New York used the New York State Regents Examinations to test high school students in English language arts, math, global history and geography, US history and government, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics and several foreign languages. The results for English language arts, math, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics, global history and geography, and US history and government are displayed in GreatSchools profiles. Students must take at least five Regents Exams in order to graduate. Scores of 65 and above are passing; scores of 55 and above earn credit toward a local diploma (with the approval of the local board of education). The goal is for all students to pass the tests.

Arrogant entitled incompetent. Plan on supplementing your child's education with a tutor. Don't under ANY circumstances communicate your dissatisfaction because your child will be targeted.

Pawling High School is probably better than one might expect. I say that because the area is fast-growing and the citizenry has been a little slow at times to recognize the enormous burden such runaway growth puts on its schools. Hence building and facility development is tardy. This situation will be helped when the new families begin to become more active at the polls and in the community. Morale is generally quite good at Pawling High School among the staff and students. The interscholastic athletics emphasis mirrors the community's own preoccupation and the teams have quite a record of success. Enrichment of AP and other academic areas could use some improvement but the program does mirror the prevailing community gene pool and interest.
