A great school all around! I find that they keep a very clean school and teachers will call you on the phone if you miss a parent-teacher conference. They also have a great support system if your kids need any academic help.

I'm very very disappointed with above school. As we march toward 21 century we expect the school system to have a curriculum that is progressive with parents and students instead fulfill their basic instinct . The administration and teachers are plainly uncommunicative inconsiderate. The web does not display anything about teachers credentials. Many of us as we look for high rank services involving our families we go and check credentials why that secrecy about this school? favoritism plays a big role and many teachers are abusive and to hide their inadequacies put a front mean face. Parent / teacher conference is inexistant . Go figure why this school has a low college index rate . If you are looking for a progressive school do not believe what you read in the web. It's high taxes area with a below standard education .that's why enrollment is declining two schools already closed and a huge budget deficit. When studies across the board show parent involvement is one of the biggest factor for a child educational success I wonder why the school is discouraging parents to be involved? success

I can only comment on the experiences myself and my sons had while they attended this school from 2006 through 2009. We moved to the area from a town in north NJ that had a pretty good school system so the quality of schools was naturally an important factor in deciding to move. I must say that with very few exceptions I was very pleased with the teachers principal and over-all education that both of my sons received. The teachers athletic coaches and principal went out of their way to make sure our kids were comfortable in the new surroundings. Were there some isloated issues? Yes but tell me one school that doesn't have any issues at all. I attended public schools in the Bronx including a high school in a poor neighborhood and received a very good education in spite of my parents totally lack of involvement and classes with upwards of 35 kids. If kids want to learn I have found that teachers respond to that and will do their best to make sure those kids learn...Those kids and parents who don't care are only making it more difficult on themselves and their classmates. Responsibility it's everyone's job.

This is an awful school. Indifferent teachers. some are actually verbally abusive. There's an art teacher who in front of the entire class asked several students whether they had ADHD in front of the entire class! In addition Parent Teacher conferences are actively discouraged. After having our child attend a wonderful public elementary school in Warwick for 6 years it was a shock to see how bad the Middle School is. We're pulling our child out and using private school next semester. i was warned many years ago about WVMS but now understand fully that this school is a complete horror show.

The administration is uncommunicative avoids contact with parents and treats teachers with indifference playing favorites. I agree with the previous poster that parents are discouraged from any involvement at the school. There needs to be a top-down housecleaning. Fortunately the majority of the faculty are dedicated professionals who do a fantastic job in spite of the Principal. The occasional do-nothing teacher is rare but they manage to still do a lot of damage. It is a shame that so much potential is held back by the administrators.

I am extremely disappointed with WVCS Middle School and the leadership or lack of leadership from the Principal. 6th graders are treated like cattle. They are crammed in classrooms. Absolutely no space for their books or coats. Not enough space or time for lunch. Classrooms and bathrooms are not well maintained. Running water is BROWN! This middle school looks like a PS in the inner city from the 1980's. Parents are discouraged from volunteering. Communication from the school to parents does not exsist. Very very disappointed.

The Warwick Valley Middle School is a great school. It is filled with many teachers that genuinely care about the kids who go there. They are academically comparable to the best schools in New York State. They offer a wide variety of programs and extracurricular activities.

I love the way our school operates and how our kids come first. I also love they way they're teaching the kids responsibility. It's a good start. Instead of throwing them directly from Elementary to Middle School it's a slow process take one grade at a time. Getting to know your school your teachers and socials. Help children on their way to H.S. It's a good thing!
