New Mexico Standards-Based Assessment (NMSBA)

In 2011-2012 New Mexico used the New Mexico Standards-Based Assessment (NMSBA) to test students in grades 3 through 8, 10 and 11 in Reading and Math. The NMSBA is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New Mexico. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.

The school might as well close their doors because they don't even bother teaching the children. It is more than shameful that the school cannot even pass the standardized tests every year. Instead of trying to make things better the staff just puts their heads in the sand. The average 5th grader would fail in another school. The staff owes it to their students to give them a GOOD education.

My opinion is less than 50% of teachers are appropriately trained to work with this population poor supervision of students in classrooms and on the playground lack of appropriate educational focus.
