End of Grade Tests (EOG)

In 2011-2012 North Carolina used End-of-Grade (EOG) tests to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math, and grades 5, 8, and 10 in science. The EOG is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of North Carolina. Students must pass the grade 8 EOG test in order to graduate from high school. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level on the tests.

TES(Tryon Elementary School) is the best school in the county in my opinion. The only improvement to be made in my opinion is more parent involvement. The Volunteer environment at TES is one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever encountered. You can no are encouraged to have lunch with your child(ren) every day classroom involvement is relished especially in the younger grades where much needed assistance improves our children's education. If you are a parent and you haven't volunteered yet you're missing out! TES is the most wonderful school I've ever had the pleasure of being a part of. Our kids grow up so fast! Don't miss out on being a part of their experience in this exceptional school.
