This is an awful school. For the first month of each school year they are completely preoccupied with the selling of cookie dough. This alienates students and promises meaningless rewards. Late in the year they focus on TCAP tests which determine some of the state funding. After these tests are complete they phone it in. They kill 3 to 4 weeks remaining year with unnecessary field trips to shopping malls. My child currently attends this school. A few teachers are ok but most are green 20 somethings that stick blindly to policy- right or wrong seemingly ignoring individual student circumstances. The principal autobot calls are too numerous like unwanted sales calls. The auto calls come right during dinner and promote her funding agendas more than education excellence. This year alone our phone has rung 30 to 40 times. Only twice was the information important. This is a terrible school and I can't wait till my child goes to high school. If you move into the East Middle School area consider driving a short distance to West Middle School.

This is our first year at East and my son and myself both are very happy about it. The teachers are the most helpfull I have seen in the 7 years my son has been in school. Between the compasion of the teachers and the edline system that they use my son will have an outstanding experience.
East Middle school has been great for my son. My son has attended private school and public school. The principal and teachers are always caring and willing to assist students and parents. They now use the edline system to help monitor grades.
East Middle school is a wonderful school for kids 6-8 grade. My children have attended both east and west middle school and east has higher scores and a much better atmosphere.
