This Is One Of The Best Schools I Have Attended. The Teachers Are Very Helpful Certain Students Are Helpful Also Other Students Are Iffy Even Though They Say They Dont Know It When Its Time To Take The Test They Do Great. The Campus Is Clean Outside School Is Clean Security Is Always There To Help And They Are Good People Too.

Worst school ever!!!! Don't do it! Drugs out of control children and teachers as well as the security don't care! My sons phone was stolen and they take no responsibility. I sat in a class and the teacher turned her back to the students for more than 80% of the class not good for high school kids. Kids do not mind the dress code. I witnessed a girl wearing lace leggings and nothing but a thong on under. I told the security and nothing was done about it. Reported that the girl does it all the time and they keep letting her come back dressed in this manner. Really!!! They are short staffed... it's not a good learning environment... the campus is filthy!

this school is amazing! the teachers are great! the sports program is amazing!! i dont care what other parents say that they there is too much drugs fight etc. student are going to have to face the real world and parents should stop trying to protect and hide the reality from their teens. its a part of grwoing up. if student are really focused on their education this school is excellent

Terrible school just terrible I can't last it any longer don't send your kids here

If this school is so hard for your kids then quit. Try looking up online alternatives or even better different schools! Stop living like this if your kids don't like it. I quit a school that was almost like this one. I switched to an online alternative because it looked fun and easier. Try it I'm sure you will be surprised. There are different curriculums so try looking them up and see which one you like. I am currently an 8th grader and my parents didn't like my school either. They searched for an alternative and found three different ones. CalPac K12 and Oak Knoll Virtual Academy. They also found Serrano's alternative too. Try it! I can assure you that you will be glad you did.

This is the worst high school I have attended. I am currently a senior though I started at Silverado as a junior. I had previously attended two other high schools due to relocation of living. The students have been taught that being disrespectful to peers teacher and admin is acceptable. The campus security is known for smoking weed with students and not enforcing any school rules. Students may walk on/off campus at any time without being questioned or stopped. Other than a few of the AP teachers most do not show a personal interest in the students. The counselors are disrespectful to students and have not shown any care towards the students. This school does not offer many classes only very few AP fewer honors classes. The "regular" classes are taught by teachers who do not teach well- if at all. Do not enroll your student into this school.

Silverado High School is home to some of the worst teachers in California. I wouldn't reccomend the school to anyone. They don't know how to teach their subjects and just waste the students time with busy work. In general the teaching styles are counterproductive to actually learning and just make every student do work without a point. If your students want help don't go to the teachers they'll just say "You should have paid attention" "It's not my problem" or "Just drop the class if you're having so much trouble." You're learning everything on your own here and only go to school to pick up work. The Ap curriculum is dreadful. Teacher's constantly assign work they haven't even looked at and grade every assignmment in the worst way possible. It's quantity of quality of work at Silverado. The test scores at this school aren't because of the students it's because of teachers that just don't care. Before you write this off as an angry misguided students I'm one of the top 20 in my senior class with no help from the teachers. Honestly It's only when I realized I couldn't count on help from any teacher(with the exception of about 2) that I started actually learning.

My son started this school in 9th grade and he has been struggling since. I think that the communication between school staff and parents is not there. The counselor always send me elsewhere to deal with issues and has NEVER approached me about my son's academic standing. I thought that their job was to ensure the studen'ts success every step of the way? The ParentWeb is no use to me regarding grades because it is never correct but I always get directed there. Teachers/counselors need to communicate more with parents face-to-face.

Silverado has okay teachers and if you are a determined student then they are willing to help. the front office people are pretty nice. but when it comes to the students its just too many and not enough security to watch over the students and there are varies fights at the school so the school can always use some improvement.

in my opinion Silverado is a really good school. sure it has its problems like drugs fights and inappropriate behavior but name one public school that doesnt. all the teachers are great they care about your education and try to help you as much as they can. there are some students that dont care about their grades and they like to cause problems but not everyone is like that. dont blame the school for some bad students behavior. if you go to silverado and you really care about your education you can talk to your teachers and counselors and they will be willing to help you and you will do great! there are also many after school activities that can help you graduate and help you and the community

I have one child that started at Silverado this year and one that is starting a 3rd year at Victor. from what I have seen so far hands down Silverado is a much better ran and informed school. Everything from book disbursment to counselor to AC Activities. Both schools have there violence issues and a very large Drug problem but i dont know of a high school that doesnt. You need to get invovled in elementary school to keep your kids going in the right direction - middle school is the worst. if you believe that there is a high school without a drug problem then you need to open your eyes a little more. i am happy to hear they are adding college classes and FINALLY getting a stadium!!!

I have witnessed student/teacher interaction at Silverado for three years now. I feel that this is one of the finest schools I have ever experienced.

I think this is a pretty good school . Even thow we have fights and things that has nothing to do with the school that is just people being human so don't say that we r not good students because i can say that most of the students are really smart they just need to be willing to sit down and actually try there best which is hard to do when your not in the mood so don't judge a school about what u see in the papper or here

I came to this school from a really good school and I am very dissapointed by what I see every day. From going to such a great school to a not so great school has been hard. Every day I see atleast one fight. There are even riots at this school. It;s so sad to see how many teens are pregnant and so many are selling drugs even in class!! I don't feel safe at this school at all. The idea of them making the campus bigger with college parts is great though.

The teachers are the greatest thing about this school. The teachers are really dedicated to helping students no matter how defiant they are. The students are the worst thing about this school. 95% of the students here are defiant and disruptive. The only way to escape these students is to join AP. Other than the students the current principal and few security guards this school is literally the best school in the High Desert. I am a student here in Silverado and I also have friends in Victor Valley who complain about the extreme lack of money and education Victor Valley has. So choose Silverado as the school for High Desert.

I am a substitute teacher that works frequently at Silverado High School and have come to believe that this is probably one of the very best schools in the entire Hi Desert. Further every employee from top to bottom makes Silverado in my opinion the best school in VVUHSD.

This school is horrible! there were hardely any updates when it came to grades and the teachers and staff seem to be afraid of the students no help to students when it comes to school work this school needs a lot off work.

I am currently a senior at Silverado High School (2010!!) and I love this campus. It is filled with many great teachers coaches principles and students. We have always had a bad reputation because of a small group of students and then the newspaper completely exaggerates the stories. This school is by far the best school in the high desert with more clubs than one would like to count more AP/HP classes than most schools in the state and despite the mediocre API scores full of intelligent students.
