California Standards Test (CST)

In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

I used to go to this school before my family moved but I was constantly bullied and always brought it to the teachers and principals attention but they'd always make it seem like it was my fault for getting bullied.

My son has gone to Vista Verde Elementary since Kindergarten and we absolutely love this school. The entire facility is very warm and friendly. They take the time to know your student and they really do care. I have always been treated with respect and with a kind demeanor even when I was first checking out the school years ago. I have to say as soon as I walked through the office doors and was great with such a welcoming positive vibe I knew that Vista Verde is we're I wanted my son to go. He has had amazing teachers and as built strong social relationships with other students.

my son is going into the second grade and has been attending since kindergarten. i love Vista Verde and so does my son. the faculty is great everyone is so nice the teachers are wonderful and its just a every friendly environment. i like how the staff takes the time to know your child and make them feel as if it's a second home. my son loves going to school and we enjoy the events thrown by the school especially the Mother/Son dance we go every year. i am very satisfied with the school

This is a terrible school. They have a huge bully problem and when it was brought to the pricipal's attention she said she knew about it and did not know how to prevent the issue. My daughter entered first grade at above average. Her first report card showed above average and then her second fell to bellow average. The teacher had no controll over her class. When I would go into the class room kids would be standing on chairs and swinging chairs around. My daughter told me of many instances where children were jumping off desks. There were so many issues with this school I actually had to go in front of the school board to complain because the principle was doing nothing to make the school a better environment. I have since taken my daughter out of this horrible school and we are amazed at the differance between the knew school and vista verde. I strongly do not recomend this school.

This is our 4th year and we have grown tremendously. We have a staff that is extremly devoted to the students and go above and beyond the 'regular' duties and hours of teachers and staff. While there will always be a few who find a flaw here and there by and large this is an amazing group who put the eduacation and character of the child first. I am proud to say I am part of this amazing team and it is an honor to work with them and serve the families and students of Vista Verde.

Best School! My kids love it and so do I!

Vista Verde is by far one if not the best schools my kids have attended. The best support and leadership from a very dedicated principal! Although with the exception of less than a handful of a few teachers who need a little extra help with their teaching abilities this school is great! My kids are going to greatly miss this incredible school...

Vista Verde is the best school in the High Desert. The principal' s leadership is extraordinary and the quality and dedication of the staff is remarkable.

The Principle is so hands on with the kids parents and staff. We love this school.

My family has been a part of this school prior to opening and very excited to begin with. Although the teachers seem to be very dedicated they are also very inexperienced. The office staff and teachers make many allowances for misbehaving students and when physical threat arrises 95% of punishment falls on the victim and not the agressor!!! Needless to say my kids will not attend there next year!

Vista Verde Elementary School is the best school in the high desert. It prides itself in being involved heavily in the community to create an enviornment in which parents and students are always involved. Vista Verde is only in its second year of existance but is already one of the best schools in the Snowline District.

The school is some what Okay. There is not much discipline for misbehaving kids. Some of the faculty are very lenient allowing kids to misbehave & not much repercussion from the principle.
