I attended Walnut Grove kindergarten through third grade. Now I'm a freshman in college and I can truthfully say that Walnut Grove had a momentous positive influence on my life and some of the best times of my childhood were spent in that school. The teachers and administrative staff were nothing less than wonderful. They pushed us to be leaders in our community and successful students. They made absolutely sure that my family was involved in my academic life and the academic programs were superb (including the after-school programs). By the time I left Washington in the fourth grade I could speak two languages besides English and I was reading on an above-college level my physical health were exceedingly above par (they kept us active inside and outside of the classroom) and I forged friendships that still to this day have not been severed... If that doesn't explain how life-changing this school is then I don't know what will...

I am so pleased with the teaching and auxilliary staff at Walnut Grove. They teach the children self control and how to treat each other and themselves with respect and care. They are very vigilant about good behavior and reward the children with Eagle Eye certificates. These are great positie motivators. They do not tolerate any bully behavior and adress and work with the child/children involved. Awesome Principal Mrs. Geenty. Positive PTA support and involvement. I am very proud to have my granddaughter at Walnut Grove.

Walnut Grove is a very safe kind wonderful school. The staff is excellent. They're very careful with the children and take great care to be sure each of them are getting on the correct busses after school. For the children being picked up after school there are PTA members and staff walking the kids to their parents cars. My daughter just got out of first grade. Toward the end of first grade she was reading chapter books. She reads every single day and most kids throw fits when they have to stop watching TV mine gets upset when she has to stop reading. Walnut Grove gave her the tools to learn to read and she absolutely loves it. She loves school I was going to transfer to a school nearer to my work in Portland but I couldn't bring myself to do it. It's too wonderful of a school.

We moved to the Walnut Grove area 3 years ago. Between my 2 children we have experienced 1st to 5th grades there. The teachers have all been devoted to my children's success! Communication between school and home is good and the family participation activities really make us feel part of the community. Wonderful!

I have two children at Walnut Grove. The staff has been outstanding. Both my children are adopted have physical special needs and English is their second language. The level of one on one help my children have received has helped them so much. They love to go to school and the staff has helped them achieve so much.
