Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests End-of-Instruction Exams (OCCT EOI)

In 2008-2009 Oklahoma used the Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests End-of-Instruction (OCCT EOI) exams to test students in high school in algebra I, algebra II, English II, English III, geometry, biology I and U.S. history upon completion of each course. The OCCT EOI is a high school graduation requirement. The OCCT EOI exams are standards-based tests, which means they measure specific skills defined for each subject by the state of Oklahoma. The goal is for all students to score at or above the satisfactory level on the test.

I'm a student and this is my second day. So far everyone is so rude- not to mention the assistant principal! He was pretty disrespectful towards me. It is very confusing if you are new no help around. I'm a freshman. I feel bad for any new freshmen. Also I'm not sure about how great the actual teaching is but so far Spanish 2 seems like the best class I have. The rest seem easy and I am actually excited for Math.

Unless in a school sport no attention is given to you. The band program needs a new life the instuctors are amazing though. Overrall the schools well. Needs improvement in some areas.

Good School offers numerous activities privileges tutoring/releasing early and credit recovery. Bad Discipline is AWFUL. As I go to the school currently the lack of respect and knowledge at the school is way below average. The school needs a major reconstruction of the policies and disciplinary system.

My grandson a senior at PCO this year has not encountered any of the negative activities mentioned on some of the reviews. His time at PCO has been filled with baseball class projects & homework & has had wonderful teachers and coaches to help him along the way. Whenever I've needed the help of office staff they've been courteous and very helpful assisting in any way they can. Even student aides respond with politeness & are eager to help. PCO also offers a number of extracurricular activities in many areas of interest & a curriculum that keeps the students challenged. I would recommend PCO to anyone within the District. I'm grateful for the excellent education my grandson has received & I'm sure my other grandchildren will be as fortunate if attending PCO.

This is the worse school i have ever seen . The staff does not work well with the students or parents. The staff sits around and eats in the office . A lot of fighting seems to be allowed and bulling . They didnt even have my child on record after i had already went thru all the enrollment . GOOD LUCK !

As a Junior at Putnam City High School I love this school and have ever since I got here Freshman year! I understand that there are problems but most of those problems either didn't have anything to do with the school as a whole the people involved didn't go to our school or it couldn't be prevented. The administration and teachers here are amazing! They relate to the students and make them feel like individuals. There have been many changes in the past couple of years such as Flexible Fridays and school starting at 9(instead of 8 30) on Fridays so the teachers can have meetings in order to further the education of their students. Other safety precautions have been taken to make the school a safer place. It might be a hassle sometimes but it makes everyone feel a lot better about being there. I love this school and always will!!

I am currently a junior at PCO this school year. Yes PCO has had it's difficulties but we learn how to make it better as a school. The coolest thing is that we have flexible fridays. Flexible Friday's are if you have a D F or any missing work you have to stay at the school and make up that work or get tutoring. If you don't have a D F or any missing work than you can leave at 2 15 instead of 3 45 on Fridays. If you are a Freshman and are worried about coming the high school there is Crew Camp. Crew Camp is basically a one day activity where you go to the high school and see where your classes are and get to play really fun games. Our athletics are great too. If clubs our your thing than we have a lot.

The teachers and administration are working very hard to improve this school. It is a team effort that all should be proud of the progress.

As a pchs grad I was really upset to read the poor reviews from parents. PCHS is FUN and a great school! there are a ton of organizations (I was in 5)! get involved make friends HAVE FUN!

Putnam City is a great school and has many activities for kids outside of school. I am a freshman this year and have had a great first year. The only think I would say is bad about the school is that there is a lot of bad teachers.

Funny a teacher was not invited to respond to this review. There is an abundance of great teachers in Putnam City. They lack support. Please support the teachers so that they may be able to teach. Teachers are not perfect nobody is perfect. They need your help to be able to do their best for your students. Due to pleasing parents academics have been diluted. There are extracurricular activities all over everywhere. Calm supportive involved parents are low in numbers. Be one. Your child will benefit greatly. Appreciate their teachers. Most teachers work very hard and care about your children. Help them be great.

I am a freshman at PCO this year and I absolutly love the school. The atmosphere is incredible. The extraciricular activities are great. The football team is great. The clubs are fun to. I am currently in Key Club which is a club that you can help volunteer in any area you want. The principals are great so far. If you plan on going to PCO and are a freshman then you have to go to Crew Camp it's a 2 day of fun filled activities and you get a chance to kind of experience high school life.

I am a student at PCO and I think that it is a great school. Our new principal is great and we have a great science department! There are tons of extracurricular activities like outdoor club where you get to go rock climbing camping and do fun outdoor stuff like that. It's a great school if you like get involved.

I think this is the best high school for me because of the extra help I get in the class room the school spirit and all the choices I have in extra curricular activities. I would definitly recommend ths school to other teens looking for a high school to go to. I would tell them we have the best football team ever and the teachers are great.

As a former student of PCHS I am shocked to hear such rave reviews. It has become a virtual police state - fenced in and controlled. perhaps this makes it more safe perhaps it just makes kids feel overwhelmed and limited. Another problem is the lack of funding appropriated to extracurricular activities other than sports. PCHS used to boast a top-caliber debate squad and the drama team's success is no testament to excellent adminstrative support rather the skilled guidance of a woman who is as mean as she is talented. All in all my experience at PC was long brutish and aggravating. Good luck.
