'DESTINED for GREATNESS' is definitely what Friendship Southeast is ALL ABOUT! This school is a learning community and an overall Friendship Family. The teachers staff and even cafeteria workers are all very friendly and helpful! My daughter came home to show me things she learned by using a chromebook in her classroom! I was super impressed and astonished! She is 6 years old and she knew how to access things I didn't! I can honestly say this was the best decision I ever made to bring my child here! KUDOS Friendship SOUTHEAST!!!

We are new to Friendship Southeast and so far I have found the teachers and office staff to be great. The principal Mr. Speight is nothing less than AWESOME! He is completely engaged and very approachable. The building is well maintained and very appealing. We are very happy to the at Friendship.

Wow! I'm blown away by this school. It's like someone turned on the light switch while I was moseying around in the sea of forgotten children school. Awesome from top to bottom. Great teachers who are strict but also caring. These children have been missing strict discipline with great leadership. Love the principal. He cares whether or not these kids will become leaders or left behind. Let's hope this children will be as fortunate at those at Achievement Prep. I think we have a great start with great leadership in Mr. Speight (principal).

This is an excellent school. The principal is extremely professional while leading the staff and teachers towards excellence. I have never seen him having a bad day always smiling and willing to help. Matter of fact he goes out of his way to speak to any and all visiting parents. Mrs. Isbel who is the office manager is totally on point. This is one well oiled machine putting out highly functioning and prepared students geared toward global success.

I appreciate Friendship Southeast Academy because the teachers are super dedicated and the students are learning the value and importance of education. The students are really coming to appreciate the huge difference a good education can make to their lives.

Despite the fact that we are located in a challenging area of DC you would never know it walking into our building. Our students can be seen learning rigorous and engaging material every day and they work to be kind members of our school community.

Last Thanksgiving my husband and I spent a day in my neices classroom. It was wonderful to see the good work that is being done in the classroom and and eye opener to what additional resources are really needed to meet the needs of these students. Each classroom needs adult volunteers to help these teachers.

This school is the BEST. I have been searching for a place where children love learning and that is SOutheast. From the principal to the teachers they show they care about the students. You should send your child if you want them to do well in school. Go Tigers!!

As the Principal of FSEA for the 2009-2010 school year I want to thank parents from previous years and administration for their feedback and reviews as they have charged us to higher level of student achievement and research-based best practices to meet the needs of our entire learning community. Our theme for this school year is 'DESTINED for GREATNESS' and as we continue to grow as a learning community and a Friendship Family I look forward to more reviews and feedback from our current parents teachers and students about the GREAT things that are taking place at Friendship Southeast Elementary Academy.

I am very disappointed in this school. Like other parents I thought this was going to be a better learning environment than public school. However my daughter is in the second grade and she has to eat lunch in the class she gets no recess and most of the time her specials are done in class. This is not a healthy learning environment. She has no time for social interaction with her peers. She is in school for 8 hrs. and there has to be time to allow her brain to relax. After all she is not in prison! As a result my child is now reading below her grade level and is failing. Before she came to this school she was a advanced reader. She will not be attending this school next year! Parents if you love your kids don't send them to this school!

I have two kids enrolled at this school. This is the third and last year that my children attend this over crowded school. I do not recommend this school to anyone. My child has been switched to three different teachers within this school year. I have a teacher that calls me every day about something he dislikes about my child. This school is a disgrace to Public Chartered Schools.

I was a parent that had 4 children attend this school. On 8-27-04 there were several students sent home a letter saying that your student has been withdrawn from the school because they were not properly enrolled. When I showed up on the next business day the lobby was overflowing with concern parents. There were at least 50 parents who the scholl adminstrators could not find files on the students. We were able to speak and listen but 2 of my children was drop from southeast academy roll they found 2 of my childrens files but not the other 2 kids. They told me to refill the packets out and they can be place on a waiting list but until then you have to place your children in there neighborhood school. They did this a week after the students had started school and after parents purchase uniforms. That speaks for it self.

I am a parent of two children who attends S.E. Academy. I feel that the grading scale for this school is very poor. The classes are over crowed and most of the teachers that they have are not qualified to teach. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. My children been there for three years and they gave me nothing but false hope and lies.

I personally do not approve of SE Academy. I enrolled my child with the perception that it would be a better learning environment than DC Public Schools offered but as I look back on my daughters three years of attending SE Academy I was wrong. I as a parent am very involved in my daughters learning process I was mislead by SE Academy. I was told she would learn a second language be taught to play tennis and golf and that this school was an all around better learning environment I was wrong!

I would not recomend this school for any child because to me the teaching is poor. I am the type of parent that is very involed with my childs education so I sat in my son's classroom and I was not pleased with what I saw and herd. Don't send your child there!
