It's a wonderful school if you like football/cheerleading. Football is a huge money maker. Parents are nice. There have been serious budget cuts that have effected the curriculum. If you are considering sending your children to this school you should think seriously about it and visit the archives of the local newspapers and judicial systems to get the facts. They should work on addressing the concerns of the parents/community more seriously while improving cooperative efforts. They lack prevention programs and fine arts. Not many field trips. They do not offer much more than a bare-bones education unless it's for sports.

I think that this is an excellent school. The building and facilities are newly renovated and the staff is amazing. The principal there is great and really cares about the students and their football program has taken off because of the excellent coaching and leadership of Coach Buesher. Recently the OGT scores have been rising and the graduation rate has also been rising too so I think that this school is doing very well. All in all this is a great school and anybody should be proud to send their child there/

The academics at West Jefferson are getting better but are still behind many schools. They have a decent amount of activities and sports for the students to participate in but with such a small school size many students have to do multiple things and WJ isn't very accommodating for these students who want to achieve more. My level I believe is very high I go to all of the sporting events help in all of the fundraiser's and I do as much as possible whenever WJHS needs help.
