Regents Exams (RE)

In 2011-2012 New York used the New York State Regents Examinations to test high school students in English language arts, math, global history and geography, US history and government, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics and several foreign languages. The results for English language arts, math, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics, global history and geography, and US history and government are displayed in GreatSchools profiles. Students must take at least five Regents Exams in order to graduate. Scores of 65 and above are passing; scores of 55 and above earn credit toward a local diploma (with the approval of the local board of education). The goal is for all students to pass the tests.

The majority of teachers do not contact parents if student are having problems and don't keep up with the parent portal or their webpages as far as progress class materials assignments etc. Very disapointing if your child is considered average or below for those with a child in the top 2% of the nation you should have no concerns.

My son graduated from East in 2008. The teachers and staff are wonderful and communication between teachers and parents has been terrific. The peer acceptance was also great after dealing with the 'clicks' of catholic grammar school. I am very happy with the education that my son received at East and that my younger son continues to receive in the West Seneca School District.

West Seneca East Sr. employs only the area's finest faculty and staff. The students are unparalled. Everyone takes pride in their work and the school runs itself. Thank you to Mrs. Goshin for setting the groundwork and Mrs. LaPaglia for making East the finest school in the Southtowns!

My daughter graduated from WSE in 2001 and will be graduating with Honors from the University of Florida in May. I would have to disagree with the statement regarding East in respect to the administration. Not only does the staff and administration go above and beyond the call of duty to assist students but they also contribute to helping students reach their highest potential. I am most proud of my daughter and her accomplishments. I believe part of her motivation and strive to succeed developed during her days at East. Ms. Goshin the principal is professional and also a very good role model.

The administration hinders progress in the classroom. It's a shame because they have a few great teachers and they can't live up to their potential.

My daughter is a student at this school and they have a tremendous teaching staff. A lot of young teachers and many classes to choose from.
