Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP)

In 2012-2013 Michigan used the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in math, reading and writing; in grades 5 and 8 in science; and in grades 6 and 9 in social studies. The MEAP is a standards-based test, which measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Michigan. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level. Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the Michigan State Board of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the MEAP test. The new standards for proficiency are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.

This school is horrible. It is out of date too small and the students don't get proper discipline.

Attending White Pigeon High School was the joy of a lifetime. I can truly appreciate the experience your child will have. Not only will they receive an outstanding education they will also gain an experience that could not be achieved at a larger school or even a nearby district. Attending a major university I can tell you that the schools curriculum top notch sports programs and leadership developing extracurricular activities give your child an advantage in the competetive college landscape. The school also has the distinction of being accredited nationally by the nca which is the highest honor for a school to receive. The district will put their money behind your children providing them with state of the art facilities and an extrordinary teaching staff. When looking to send you child to a local school choose one that has more to offer than your average school choose White Pigeon.

My daughter loved attending White Pigeon High School over Sturgis. Sturgis was always a very competitive school that did not have the right academics to my standards with their math program called CORE math. My suggestion is smaller is better. The students on graduation day knew everyone and there was so much time to go over the last four years together than there ever would have been at Sturgis that had over 200 graduates.
