I have researched several private schools in Whittier Santa Fe Springs and Norwalk and decided to enroll my children to St. Gregory the Great school. I truly believe now that i made a great choice. My kids love it I have one in 2nd and 7th grade. The staff has welcome them with open arms and my kids just love and praise their teachers. My daughter has been in the public schools for the past 5 years and she is amazed at how much her teachers explain and take the time to know her as a student. My son told me today that he wants to stay at this school until he is in 8th grade. What more can I ask from a school.

St Gregory the Great School is amazing. Today they provided a Thanksgiving feast for all the kids and staff. It was beautiful to see everyone coming together and making this a memorable event. Thank you so much for everything you do for our kids!!

What a blessing to have my son at a school that values the true meaning of Thanksgiving. It's so much more than sharing a huge meal together (although the food was fantastic!). Watching the students share what they are grateful for writing it on a paper and attaching it to a cross was very touching and I was grateful to have been present.

It's sad to read such horrible reviews about this school. St. Gregory continues to exceed my expectations. A few new teachers this year but change can be good. They've also started offering art gymnastics and tennis lessons. Principal is open to any and all suggestions. I love the sense of camaraderie that you get here. Very much a family environment.

I love St. Gregory the Great! I currently have 3 kids attending school here. The teachers principal and front office staff are great. This is my kids home away from home it really does have a family atmosphere.

Excellent environment for young minds to learn. The faculty are knowledgeable and professional. The family atmosphere and warmth keeps us coming back year after year.

The school year has just started and Back to School night was yesterday. It was progress from previous years. However more time needs to be allocated for each teacher to do their presentation to the parents. The school is lacking a Parent Teacher Organization which per the Archdiocesan Policies and the school s website it is expected that these be established within each Catholic school. The main functions of the Parent Teacher Organization are to raise funds for the school s current operational expenses to promote parental support for the school program and to increase mutual understanding between school and parents. The membership of the parent teacher organization shall include the pastor the principal the parents or legal guardians and the faculty of the school. Furthermore altough an iPad program has been rolled out it doesn't quite seem to be put together for the primary grades in TK-2.

To comfort those individuals that have concerns about St. Gregory the Great School enrollment has gone up this year. Change is good-always. It's God's will not ours. As a current parent of the school it is always about the student/child. Sometimes parents become too involved and need to trust that if the child is happy then leave well enough alone. If the school is not a good fit then leave. I plan on keeping my children enrolled there until they graduate. Our students go on to a much higher level education including college. When posting negative comments please be brave enough to include your name. Make your name known so your children can be proud!

The Principal teachers and staff along with the families and students make this school an excellent choice to send your son or daughter. The Principal is very involved and cares for her staff and students and is available to parents. The staff is friendly helpful and competent they go beyond in being there for your children and in helping you in anyway they can. As for the teachers they are outstanding and really show that they are there to educate your children with professionsalism and integrity. Although this year there have been some changes as a parent I believe they have been in the best for our kids. Reading some negative reviews from previous parents upsets me. It basically comes down to if your not happy then simply remove yourself and your family from the school. No need for negativity and false accusations.

All I can say about this school is this. "DISAPPOINTING" Principal and office staff has lied to parents and students about these two wonderful teachers about their leaving and making it seem like they left on their own. When the truth is they we're let go for knowing too much. Teacher aide gossips to other parents about the former Pre-K teacher not being on the right side. meaning she didn't "brown nose" like she does. It's time for new leadership and office staff!!

St. Gregory the Great School has experienced a positive growth enrollment. Students are offered many academic opportunities which engage them as active learners. The strong religious instruction and foundation continually provides a safe and caring environment. Our teachers are committed to their profession and believe in Catholic Education. We are moving with the 21st century learning; building curriculum based on Common Core and technology integration. There is a strong sense of family here.

We have just finished up our first year at St. Gregory the Great and we have had nothing but great experiences. I have seen such amazing changes in my child after her first year there. Teachers office staff and principal are wonderful and the school is very much like a family. It is true that a couple of very excellent teachers have moved on to other opportunities but I have no doubt that the school will continue to exceed my expectations.

Administration is questionable and untrustworthy. In fact they have requested reviews and comments to be removed from this website simply because some of the parents including myself had called out a specific teacher that was awesome. She has since been let go of the school with no explanation to the parents and therefore the great reviews of her which was a reflection of the school itself have been removed. She was one of two that were let go. The priests seem to change every year for the last 2 years again with no explanation to the parents. Leaving children to also question why they are leaving. In the past "mandatory parent meetings" have been held to simply throw a sales pitch at the end for services offered by other parents which should be prohibited. The Transitional Kindergarten program going forward (2014-2015 school year and forward) will not be provided by the former teacher that was wondeful and had great reviews.

Ditto to what the parent from May 10th 2014 posted. With Miss Tanya leaving the school will be at a huge loss!!!! This was officially announced via their newsletter this weekend with no explanations provided to parents. My review from November 2012 was primarily based on Miss Tanya. They want to implement new technology while not all of their teachers communicate via email. The campus does not always look great. If I keep my daughter there I will be demanding a lot more for my money and from the principal!

I am writing regarding the Transitional Kindergarten Program that is ran by Ms. Tanya...She is truly an amazing professional. I cannot emphasize what a huge important part of my child's developmental years she played. She prepared him in ways beyond the textbook traditions. Ms. Tanya pours her heart and soul into these young minds and her experience makes her one of the biggest assets of St. Gregory School. My child has graduated from her class but continues to ask about her and her lessons in feeding the mind body and soul are still with him 2 years later!! As a parent I can't express my gratitude enough for Ms. Tanya. In parenting we make mistakes but choosing Ms. Tanya was one of the things I did - one thousand percent right!!
