Sorry, at this time, if you are using a Safari web browser you will be unable to create or edit pages in the Real Estate Guide. We're currently working on a solution. In the meantime, if you have a Firefox browser, you can use that to create or edit pages.

This wiki is yours. Yours to use, write, and edit.

What's a wiki? It is a shared source of information that anyone can contribute to and is therefore richer than if it were the product of one author.

Goals of the Real Estate Guide

This wiki is devoted to all aspects of real estate. It is intended to demystify the complex world of real estate by allowing everyone to share their knowledge and experience, whether they are professionals, sellers, buyers, or anyone else who is passionate about real estate.

The goal of the wiki is to present comprehensive and objective content on real estate topics. Unlike blogs and most online content, wiki pages offer more than just one person’s point of view. For this reason, we ask that if you believe a page contains information that is blatantly wrong, please correct the content. But if you disagree with the content, please don't delete the original content; instead, edit the content to include your perspective.

Not sure what to write about? No worries. Just think about what information would be useful to you in any aspect of real estate. See if there's a place you can contribute to the collective knowledge about that topic, or create a new page yourself.  It's easy ? and fun.

What you can do with the Real Estate Guide

  • Edit pages. To edit existing content, click "Edit this page" on any page and edit the information within the body of the page. Use the "Edit Tools" box to add style such as boldface or a subhead. Using this box, you can also add links within the content. Or, add links in the "Related links" paragraph at the bottom of the page. Describe the changes you made in the "Add Note" field in the Edit Tools box, then click "Save" to publish the new content.
  • Create new pages. Click on the "Create a new page" link. This lets you create a page title and begin writing about your new topic.
  • See page history. Click on this to see who changed the content last, or to roll back the content to a previous version.
  • E-mail the page. You can send the page to a friend.
  • Print this page. (You can probably figure out what this means.)
  • Create stub pages. These are pages that are very short; there is very little information on them, but they provide enough to be useful.
  • Link to other pages. Links are valuable because they lead readers to related information easily. You can add links to other articles within the wiki, or external links.
  • Add resources. You can add resources you've found helpful on certain real estate topics within the Resources for Buyers and Resources for Sellers pages.

Other notes

Anyone can contribute to this wiki, but you do have to register with Zillow and create a screen name to do so. (Of course, you can read the wiki without registering.)

Only the creator of a page, or Zillow, can delete a page.

At this time, we only allow English in the wiki.
