Miami's Famed Architectural Design
An interesting aspect of art and architecture is the way it leaves the viewer's analysis open to interpretation. Like a Rorschach test viewers interpret architecture in many ways, looking at different facets of massive structures. Some see the frame, others the window and some look at it holistically. Some may see visual finesse and some kind of deeper meaning, while others will simply say "It looks okay" and find it ordinary. The openness to interpretation is the crux of why the Miami skyline can be considered beautiful to some and bland to others.
Understanding people's predispositions and artistic standards, it's clear that condos like the Ten Museum Park could be viewed as either having a perfectly proportioned sleek design or as being too spacious and not decorative enough. Buildings on Miami condo strips are judged as if they are paintings in a gallery: Are they unique? Are they consistent with a theme? Does their structure inspire? It's these standards that perpetuate the ongoing competitive atmosphere between architects in Miami trying to build their own artistically groundbreaking condo.
There are luxury condos in the development stage that are poised to be the next in a series of riveting condo architecture. Miami Beach and the Downtown area are crowded with condo projects trying to display artistically designed buildings that surpass all others in creative functionality. Architectural powerhouse firms like Arquitectonica, Kobi Karp and the Related Group are spearheading the ongoing design movement. Their contribution to Miami's skyline has influenced popular culture in the United States to have it as the backdrop for television shows and movies while continuing to draw artists interested in its awe-inspiring ambiance.
Adopting the theme of being on the forefront of architectural design is the reason developers and designers, even 25 years later, continue to explore new incredible ways to amaze. Current condos, such as the Bentley Bay, may not completely defy convention, but its curvaceous design deviates from rectangular design and introduces both the functional and aesthetic benefits to creative design.
Some ask how much the design actually affects a buyer's or renter's decision to confidently choose a condo. Miami is a city of great design; from its fashion, automobiles and cosmetics Miami is a city that enjoys fine viewing. People from around the world come to see the beautiful buildings, art and people of Miami and the condo buildings will continue to live up to those standards.
