End of Class Tests (EOC)

In 2011-2012 North Carolina used End-of-Course (EOC) tests to assess high school students in Algebra I, English I, and Biology. The EOC tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of North Carolina. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level on the tests.

I am currently attending WHS and I love it. Other schools always try to say that our school lacks the good grades that it should have. As validictorian of the Sophomore class I have a 4.0 GPA. Sure as a school our grades may not be the best but the teachers certainly do their best and stay involved. It is a wonderful school for extracurricular activities. Some other schools in our county don't even have a football team. Alltogether I believe WHS is a wonderful high school for any student who wants to succeed in life.

I truly admire the way the administration hadled Behavior Issues and disciplinary measures in this school & how they manage to maintain the school's high academic standards as well as holistic approach in each student's life in this school. Turn-over of Staff and teachers that can hardly be observed and teachers staying for years is indicative of a well-run school. These I have observed in this school.

The academic programs are ok. I think they could be improved upon. We need more music classes and we need to fix up the school some. It looks so dull and dreary that it is no wonder kids complain about coming to school. I think we should work and get our school to look better.

I am currently a freshman at this school. I think that all of our teachers and coaches are wonderful. The only thing that I don't like is that we have to wear uniforms. They do keep people from wearing their pants at their ankles though. Everything else is great though.

I am a current student at WHS. The extra curricular activies are very wide spread. We have to wear uniforms for our 'safty'

My daughter transferred to WHS last year and it took her only two weeks to feel at home. This is a school where all students are encouraged to succeed where teachers go the extra mile and the overall community cares about the students. Students have plenty of opportunities to explore and excel.
