California Standards Test (CST)

In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

The main campus were lovely and the staff were friendly when we visitied. However the playground is in very poor repair and the children cluster in a long narrow area. Bullying and inappropriate talk from students is often missed by the too-few supervising staff on the playground. My child did not feel safe at this school.

I have had more than one incident that has made me question the quality of the school. I accept and acknowledge that there are surely fine teachers and staff that work there. But to date I have had more negative experiences than positive. Perhaps if I was from here or had family who worked there or worked there myself that would be different. I hope that changes for the future generations I have planned on being here.

Blosser Lane is a good school. Michelle Frey is an awesome principal who always has the childrens best interests at heart. She was a great teacher 20 years ago and is a great leader in the school system now.
