California Standards Test (CST)

In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

I pulled my daughter out of this school b/c the teachers were ineffective in helping those that needed extra help. My daughter turned into another person I did not know...skipped school etcl she hated it. i moved her to another district that was smaller and better teacher communication and individual learning options. my son is supposed to go there next year and I am currently looking for another school. WUSD needs to listen to the parents...especially the parents of the children for who the work does not come easily.

I agree with the person below me and im a student there and there isnt realy a hard challenge in the school exept algebra in 7th grade. Some kids acceleate at a faster pace

My child is a 7th grader and is doing very well. She has a wonderful english and social studies teacher who reads everything the children write and tries to help them improve. She is in honor band which is a top notch music program. The only class she is in that needs vast improvement is science. My daughter loves science and needs a challenging environment. The class she is in teaches to the low achieving children and provides nothing for the high achieving students. The school needs to provide an accelerated science class for college bond kids. Science and math need to be top rate to ensure the success of our children and nation.

I totally disagree with your March 2nd review. Since the new picipal came to the middle school things have shaped up and we should be proud to have our children there. The office staff are caring and wonderful. They help to the best of their ability. Parents who have problems should think about what they are doing to get the response they get. Hats off to WMS! Keep up the good work.

This school is turing intot he worst school ever. I would of thought with a fresh pair of eyes added to the school (Principle) that things would turn around but NO things have goten worse. Teachers are uninvolved no communication to parents and the front office the rudest I have ever seen. Please someone do something about this school.

This school is great this is my third year here. Most of my teachers are great but as we have a new pricipal and we have a much larger 7th grade we are getting new teachers and other teaches a getting swithced around. I had a PE teacher and he was really nice but he got switched over to teach 7th grade nad now going in to the 4th week of school I do not have a PE teacher. Other than that though this is a great school and has some good teachers.

This school has given my children the sense of the real world around us and protecting them from the undesired familiarity with violence etc. Also the program makes sure that all of the students actually learn. My children has been attending different schools in the past so far this school actually challenges them and pushes them to do their best while they are having fun. The most favorite place would be at the playground for most schools but with a survey the library was the favorite among the students. Enroll you children and prepare for the easiest year to come!

I think that WMS is a Great school I am currently a student there and I think the staff and principal are great they are good at what they do. And you should Enroll your child at WMS it's a great school. And they pretty much keep the 6th graders separate from the 7th and 8th graders so you don't have to worry about your 6th grader being harassed

I have had two children go through this school and I have found most of the teachers to be very uninvolved with the students. For example I only found out about my son's bad grades about a week before the report card came out...when it was too late to do anything about!

I have 2 sons who attend/attended WMS. I have found the school to be interested and involved with it's students-a safe environment with a no tolerance policy that is well enforced. The curriculum is well rounded with very a active music department. Sports are offered on a 'no cut' policy any child who wants to play can play.

I Am Also A Student At Said School And Somewhat Agree With And Know Jamie Bone. We Do Not Have Many Fights... On School Campus. Fights Are Generally Taken Outside School Grounds. And Safe School Ambassadors... It Doesn't Work. I Recommend That You Think About What Values You And Your Family Have Before Enrolling Your Child In This School. If You Don't Want Your Child To Learn Rude Gestures And/Or Language Enroll In A Healdsburg School!

I am currently a student at Windsor Middle. I am Student Body treasurer and proud of our school. Our Principal is excellent we have minimal fights. We also have what is called Safe School Ambassadors students that are trained to help solve problems and stop them from happening.
