High School Assessments (HSA)

In 2011-2012 Maryland used the Maryland High School Assessments (HSA) to test students in English 2, Algebra, and Biology upon completion of each course. The HSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Maryland. Beginning with the class of 2009, students are required to pass the tests in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to pass the tests.

Milford Mill Academy has grown leaps and bounds over the years. The staff is dedicated and we have a fantastic administration. I believe with certainty that we have the best principal in Baltimore County. Most importantly the students are wonderful. Sure Milford Mill just like any school in the nation has those few students who like to walk the line but you will find that anywhere. The majority of the student population is awesome! Milford Mill is a family and we have the most school pride at BCPS. It is hard to describe but you know when you work or go to school here the type of pride that exists.

MMA is the best school in Baltimore County. We have the best teachers the best students and the best administrative team. We all work together like a well oiled machine. You can't beat Miller pride because there is no one else that can match us. Go Millers.

Milford Mill has been known to have a bad reputation but attending this school over the years has shown me that that reputation it had before is long gone. Not only does Milford promote AP classes but the faculty and staff promote that Smart is the new cool which is really encouraging to students that think being smart is lame. Milford has changed for the better and continues to change for the better.

Milford Mill Academy is a great school depending on what you are here to accomplish. My principal has stepped up and has made a tremendous change in this school. i actually enjoy coming to Milford especially since my health science magnet is so fun. my health science teacher Ms.Roberts is one of the best teachers at Milford she actually cares. i think that Milford has made tremendous steps to becoming a good school even though some of the set backs that we have had.

What i like about this school is that you can communicate with your teachers and you get along with all your teachers. I Also like that they are promoting Ap students and motivating them to do better.

Milford Mill Academy has improved since the early 2000s. All schools have bad students and we have those. I have been attending milford for the last 3 years. The amount of fights have decreased but there will always be social network and people who uses it. My first two years i have seen a change in this school. Since Harden became our principle we have more color and art in the halls. I am a Milford Mill Academy student I am an AP and Honor roll student. We have so many thinks that have improved but all schools have thinks to work on. Milford Mill is working on the bad things; thinks have to get bad before they can good. We just need a chance to improve again. We are having a crisis right now because a few bad seeds but it will get better.

My school is a school that pushes a person to do better. We have recently had a few remarkable achievements. For example- The band accepted ino the state festival the girls basket ball team winning state championships a great talent show last week and an excellent fashion show the week before. This school pushes excellence.

A good thing about my school is that it offers a variety of programs. Milford Mill Academy has also made major improvements which shows the effort everyone is making to make Milford a better learning environment. One thing that could be improved upon is the organization of the guidance counselors.

Milford Mill Academy is one of the best high schools on the Northwest side of the Baltimore County School District. It has an amazing IB program an excellent Magnet program that will be adding Dance great sports teams that usually finish first in their divisions i.e. Varsity Boys Basketball and Wrestling as well as a world renowned Choir that has traveled as fas as London. To add we have an awesome administrative team and dedicated teachers. I am proud to teach at Milford which is why I've been here for 13 years.

I have child that attends Milford Mill Academy and for what I have seen is that it is a great school with great programs and energetic kids who all aspire for the most out of life. The staff does all that they do with public funds and the contributions of the parents.

This is perhaps one of the worst schools in the county. Students are not only bad but extremely nasty. They have zero respect for their peers or the faculty. Stay as far away from as possible.

milford is fun sometime;but some of the teacher dont care but it is a good school and get you ready for college and the world..

Milford mill is not a bad school! as a senoir im highly abset at all the negitivety aimed at my school. Education is what you make it that goes for anyschool anywhere! the teachers do care about us & do put in the time & effort to help us learn. People are going by test scores & summing us up and its not fair those student who dont care are the outliers that are holding us back. If you want to learn do the work. At the same time we dont recieve alot of funding so most of the things we have we raised money for with hardwork!!! & if your interested in sports here the boys varsity basketball team are county champs along with jv wrestling team. We dominate track everywhere & have 1 of the best football programs in the state we went to the county championchip this year

Milford Mill Academy is well not one of the best school in Baltimore County but for learning there you can't get no better. I have attended Owings Mills and found that even at Milford with the a low budget and probably not as much resources as OMHS there is a better opportunity of succeeding and achieving any goal. I was also in the Marine Corp JROTC and GySgt Reid was one of the best instructors anyone could have. Overall this school is probably one school I would like to remember and hope that the parents/guardians would see pass those that give it a bad name and actually begin to care for that school because it really needs the support of the parents guardians and the community as a whole.
