Arizona's Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS)

In 2011-2012 Arizona's Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) was used to test students in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 10, writing in grades 5, 6, 7, and 10, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 10. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona's learning standards. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.

As a parent of a special needs child I am relieved to have him out of the Winslow School District. I found out while he was in attendance there in Winslow that they would continue to pass him to higher grades regardless of his lack of reading writing and math skills. Unfortunately I still have nieces and nephews who attend the Winslow Schools and they constantly suffer because of the lack of education the do not receive. The teachers principals and administration do not care about the students only their little paychecks.
