My son is a student at the River Valley High School in Yuba City California. I'm disabled and have not been able to help my son in athletic or academic events as a parent normally would due to my physical limitations and medications. Lucky for me some of his friends parents and coaches have helped fill this void by taking my son to and from football camps bringing him home from practices or games mentoring his progress in class taking him on their family vacations weekend getaways or to Church. This has been a constant for several years which has afforded my son many laughs and fond memories for years to come. It's hard to find the words to express my gratitude for what these wonderful people have done for my son so I simply offer a heartfelt thank you. As parents we're always concerned about the quality of education values and ethics our children learn which is why I'm proud to say he's a student at River Valley. I would highly recommend this High School for the character it's staff and patrons have shown by simply caring for one of it's own. Thank You..

I graduated from RV in 2012 and let me warn you the teachers will only pick a couple students they really will help and leave the rest of you to fend for yourselves and don't get me started about the band program. Overall I would go to either Yuba City or Sutter High school.
I consider rvhs to be the best high school in Yuba city. I graduated from rvhs in 2013 and tell you the truth the four years i spent in that high school were the best years ever. The staff That rvhs is very friendly and they will do anything to make you succeed in any way. There is a huge variety of sports there. If i were in your shoes i would select rvhs to be your first priority as a high school. Don't wait choose rv now
I have four children one graduated 2011 one in 2012 another in 2013 and my youngest will be a freshman in the fall of 2012! We have had nothing but the best teachers and staff at our children's school. The academics to sports programs are by far the best and only getting better! There isn't another school I would rather have my children at. Mr. Reusser is one of the best around and the staff TRULY CARE ABOUT THE KIDS!
Our daughter is currently a sophomore at RVHS and there is nothing but positive comments that I can make about this school. From the administration to the support staff they are all terrific. When I make phone calls or leave emails for the teachers I receive the same back within a day or maybe two depending on schedules. When I contact the Principal he responds to my comments and anwers questions. You will see administration and sometimes board members at each and every school function. I could not be more delighted with this school and feel very fortunate that our daughter is a student there.
Im a Senior at this school i will be the first class to have been at the school for four years the school has gone through some changes over the time ive been here not all of them great but in the end its a wonderfull school. The teachers are able to connect with the students when needed and students have the time they need with the block schedule.
this school is the best............. lots of fights though
The availability of the AP (Advanced Placement) classes is great. We moved to Yuba City from big urban city where AP classes were overflowing the attention that the teacher could give through the 50 min of class to the students were almost non-existing but with the workload as hard as in college. River Valley offers great AP selection just talk to the counselors and draft your child s future to success! Explore the options! I am not a teacher I am a very satisfied parent! River Valley Rocks!
this school has been a great experience. ive only been at RVHS for two months and i felt belonged.
I am so pleased with this school. This school year is by far the best yet. They have worked out all the kinks and things are really on track now. their academic program challenges the students to work hard and move at a much faster pace than your typical school. The classes offered are geared to prepare your child for college. There are also classes offered that count toward college credit hours. they have a wide range of extra curricular activities. This year 2007 the Falcons football team remains undefeated. And the level of parent involvement is incredible. I cannot say enough regarding the principle Larry Bonds. He is the type of person that does whatever it takes to improve the quality of education that your child receives. And above that the students sincerely like him as a person. He makes you feel comfortable speaking with him. I love River Valley.
This new high school is modern and clean. The school has been operation for 2 years. The first year while being completed it was used as an elementary school. This year it only has freshman and sophmore classes with junior and senior classes to be added in the next 2 years. The outside football/baseball fields need a lot of work right now. The kitchen is clean and modern boasting a food service area with multiple venues including Chinese food Mexican food pizza a hamburger grill a deli and a snack bar. All food is freshly made in the food service area. The classrooms are what you would expect from a brand new school i.e. clean well lit roomy. Accademically it is too early to tell since it is a new school. Located just west of the city it is surrounded by a semi-rural atmosphere with fairly modern homes.
