My children go to this school. Honestly it is the worst school my children have ever been to. In 1-6 they went to a very bad school ( in MUSD ) . In Kindergarten they went to private school and honestly that school was nolt very pleasent. But this school is torture for my children and i beleieve that this school has the worst teachers and the school is very careless. Almost all the teachers don't care about the students. If i were not for the few decent teachers at tis school my kids would be going to Hope Academy. I suggest that no one enrolls their kid in this school. It is a never ending nightmare!.........

I went to this school for my 7th grade year. And now I'm going into my 8th grade year. Its a pretty good school for me personally. I've made lots of friends last school year. Honestly I've never seen anyone fight at the school just verbally but in class like "shut up" and it would go back and forth. In my opinion its a good school but it doesn't go from 7-11 it goes 7-8.

I had zero problems with my son going to La Contenta. Middle schools can be scary to say the least. La Contenta has a bad reputation just by people listening to other people. Middle school is a tough two years for any child. My son did great had high grades and had no problems whatsoever. I liked La Contenta and so did my son. Teachers do care all of them. Kids can learn anywhere if they want to no matter what school they attend. if they don't want to learn it has nothing to do with the teachers or the school. Teachers mean? They are not mean enough in my opinion. They are not "allowed" to be.

I am pretty disappointed to find out that this school is very careless I had moved from South Carolina 2 years ago and this made me want to go back to the school back there. A lot of teachers are nice like Mrs. Ferris Mr. Myers and Ms. Busch ) But others are very mean uncaring and uncomfortable to be around. Like one of the PE teachers there. I wouldn't recommend this school to any parent (coming from a graduating student) to send their child to. I honestly believe some teachers here deserve better than what this school offers for them and same goes for the students. Honestly this school is horrible.

I have been pleasantly suprised with La Contenta. I had heard many negative things about it in the past. As a parent who has had a student at La Contenta previously and didn't have a great experience I would like like to say it has improved. My two students who attend there have thrived and have great teachers. They are challenged academically daily. When having to correspond with the teachers and staff they have been prompt and helpful in every way. The musical program is great and the AVID program has been very helpful to my student. The after school programs at La Contenta have been excellent. We are really enjoying the school year and would recomend this school to all.

La Contenta is a middle school. We supply students with binder reminders so they can put their assignments in them. It is up to the student and parent to then make sure it is done and brought back to class. I have several students who bring me their binder reminder to sign so the parent knows that it is correct. If the parent does not wish to follow throught than that can be a problem for your child. We also have parent visitation day every 1st Wed. of the month. Very few parents are coming. We have a parent group that very few parents are involved in. We have parenting classes which again have few parents that come. There are a lot of things at this school for kids to get involved but then I guess there would be nothing to complain about. Get involved for better school.

I really hope someone from the school reviews these and can see that the parents are not happy with how things are being run. Maybe someone should mail a copy of the parent comments. I strongly feel the school is failing our children in the way of their education and with their lack of involment with the parents. Sometimes staff needs to put a little extra time and effort forward or is it all about getting paid?

There are the goods and bads of this school. I am an student here and SOME of the teachers here are good. Ms. Gragg is one of those really good teachers. I have her for English and history. I don't like the P.E. teachers AT ALL though. Overall this school is pretty average.

    Good relations..Music education available..No art...Some parent envolvement

Very poor parent/teacher communications as well as administration. The school provides a 'binder reminder' or a blank notebook that is intended for the kids to write down their homework for the parents to check. Problem the kids don't write down all that is due or expected as homework. Very truamatic for kids and parents. If you are fortunate enough to have options do not choose this school it is a nightmare.

Good teachers and after school programs available.

Don't send a gifted student to this school. You would be better sending a gifted child to an inferior private school than to subject them to the horrible problems at La Contenta. This school is determined to force every child to the lowest common denominator and keep them there. Only the high quality of the teachers keeps me from pulling my child out. Many people refuse to enroll a child in this school and they may be right.
