I am very pleased with the direction that PCMS seems to be headed. With a new building and administration along with some great caring teachers this school is a school our community can now be proud of.

I wish a JROTC program would come to PCMS. THe new bldg is great but the dicipline needs to improve. I hope with the new principal and staff there it will get better. They should inforce a little better dress code with some of the kids. SOme of them look like they never change clothes. I hope the lunch gets better. It often is so bad my kids don't eat at all. I would like to see more money funded toward a new auditorium and less towards football. THe old school auditorium is a disgrace. The whole community uses it so it shoud be a priority. I would like to see better comminication from the teachers/school as a whole. No notes ever seem to make it home about anything. (dances clubs etc) I feel left out as a parent.

Pike County has excellent schools! I attended Pike County Schools and my children are there now. My oldest is twelve and we have experienced only positive results from Pike County Schools. We are getting a new middle school. It will be ready for the 2008/2009 school year. Yay!

Pike county schools system overall is about a 4 star. I know that when I send a letter in requesting information that I ususally get a call that day that I sent the letter and get explainations to my questions.I would like to see more afterschool options for the kids

PCMS is a great school. Most of the teachers are great however there are some bad ones. It's going to be that way any where. I would like to see a ROTC program in the near future. We are excited about the new middle school building.

Pike County Middle School is great. The teachers and staff are what put this school together. The teachers are great. I wish we could have better lunches but don't we all? We should give more money to the musical department and sports.(other than football)Overall the school is fantastic and devoted to the students.

Hey I think that Pike County Middle has very smart and educational teachers. I think we do need another principal and maybe some new staff. I also think that when we buid our new middle school Pike will be way better. We have wonderful students and teachers if only we had a building that would suit everyone. The new superintendant** Dr. Duncan is also very good. I think that he is right for Pike and he will make good choices for us also.

I believe that this school could use its money for things that matter like better food and more equipment. I think that the teachers are over all great with the exception of a few who do nothing. The staff is pretty good could be better. When the new school is built i think the other kids will be better off I believe that the staff should encourage the students more i feel like we as students dont get enough encouragement. I also feel like the school is not the safe i sometimes feel like we have to many problems with bomb threaths and etc.

I don't care what anyone says. Pike County Middle School is awesome and the teachers are really nice. The students are like the coolest people ever. Sports are great. A lot of kids are being involved with it. - A STUDENT

I am very disappointed with the quality of this school. The teachers are mostly of poor quality and often stifle the children's creativity. The children are not allowed to choose which meager exploritory classes they would like. I am moving to get away from this school. Over crowded leaking roof and very poor quality education. The principal is the worst in the group.

hey i think this school is good in some ways but mostly stupid i hate going to this school especially since we now have a new principal and he does not know what he's doing i don't like him at all-that was said by a studen- not a parent.

I was very pleased with Pike Middle School during my son's sixth and seventh grade year. The teachers were highly qualified and professional; however the administration needs to take a look at some of its eighth grade teams. The language arts department and science department were big disappointments to me. Reading and writing skills were not emphasized. Although the students had frequent vocabulary tests the vocabulary was not reinforced through reading and writing skills. Critical thinking skills and hands-on activities were not encouraged in science and was taught more based on factual information. I had to be personally responsible in making sure that my son got what he needed as we should as parents anyway. This was a few years ago however; hopefully due to the 'No Child Left Behind' act and a new middle school administration maybe these teachers have changed their methodology.
