Peacock Isle is conveniently located between I-45 and SH 3, just off FM 517. This exclusive community features 47 home sites, with 23 of them offering direct backyard access to Dickinson Bayou. Residents of Dickinson often take full advantage of the bayou's recreational opportunities, which include fishing, canoeing, water skiing, swimming, and sightseeing. There are two designated watercraft launch locations: one at the intersection of Highway 3 and the bayou, and another at Paul Hopkins Park on FM 517. Kayaks and other shallow-draft boats can explore deep into the bayou's tributaries. The highest concentration of these tributaries lies within the city limits of Dickinson, Texas. Major named tributaries feeding into Dickinson Bayou include Gum Bayou, Benson Bayou, Magnolia (Geisler) Bayou, Bordens Gully, Cedar Creek, and LaFlore's Bayou.
