Museum Mile, Lincoln Center, Broadway, the city’s top hospitals, fine dining, and cultural treasures are all moments away. Residence 3M isn’t just a home — it’s the quieter side of Fifth Avenue and Central Park, where the city feels close, yet the world slows down just enough to breathe. Here is a bit more about this "quieter side neighborhood", and things that I love to access: (see photos of these places) The North Woods Located between West 100th and 110th Streets, the North Woods is a dense, forest-like area filled with winding paths, rustic bridges, and a small stream called the Loch. It’s designed to resemble a natural woodland, with tall oaks, maples, and elms creating a peaceful, shaded canopy. The Huddlestone Arch, built from uncut boulders, is a striking landmark in this area. The Pool. Found at West 100th Street and Central Park West, The Pool is a tranquil pond surrounded by willows and flowering shrubs. Its reflective surface makes it a popular spot for photography and birdwatching. The water from The Pool flows eastward through the Loch into the Harlem Meer, creating one continuous natural water system. The Reservoir Running Track Just south of this area lies the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, stretching from 86th to 96th Streets. The 1.58-mile running track circling the Reservoir offers panoramic skyline views and is one of the city’s favorite jogging routes. Tennis Courts and Meadows Near West 96th Street, the Central Park Tennis Center has dozens of clay and hard courts set amid trees and open lawns. North of it, the Great Hill is a gentle grassy rise used for picnics, community gatherings, and summer jazz concerts. Upper Central Park North (110th Street) The northern edge of the park, along Central Park North (110th Street), borders the neighborhoods of Harlem and Manhattan Valley. Here lies the Harlem Meer, a large pond surrounded by reeds, woodlands, and lawns. It’s a peaceful area popular for catch-and-release fishing, relaxing, and family picnics. (see photo) The Charles A. Dana Discovery Center sits on the Meer’s edge, offering nature programs, exhibits, and community events. Across 110th Street, you’ll find Harlem’s vibrant architecture, local cafes, and views down the length of Central Park. You will also find public swimming pool nearby for summer swimming!
