We bought this home in 2014 as a summer escape from the hustle and bustle of Northern Virginia — but what we found was so much more than a getaway. Nestled quietly in what we believe is Ocean City’s best neighborhood, it’s close to the beach, boardwalk, and nightlife, yet still private, peaceful, and safe thanks to nightly neighborhood patrols.
When we purchased it, the home had belonged to a longtime Ocean City local who had recently passed away, and we felt honored to receive such history. We gave it a fresh, open-concept coastal feel that became the perfect place for gatherings with friends and family.
Our two children were in high school at the time, and they couldn’t have been happier. We spent entire summers here — one year, they even stayed the whole season, working their first jobs at The Dough Roller, learning to surf, biking the neighborhood loop, and taking day trips to Assateague Island. We even fished the White Marlin Open once (we didn’t win, but we had a blast) — the boat was tied up right at the dock you see in the photos.
