We have decided to let go of our beautiful home, where we raised our large family, which has been the hub of many get-togethers, including a number of weddings. This two-story colonial home sits on almost an acre of property and is located in the much-desired Northwest Bradenton area. It is tucked away from all busyness, yet close enough to shopping and food stores! It is only a ten-minute drive to beautiful Anna Maria Island and biking/walking distance from the 640-acre Robinson Preserve, as well as DeSoto National Park. Both of these parks have beautiful trails that meander along the Manatee River, where nature lovers can do their walking/running, paddle boating, and kayaking. Our home is situated on a quiet cul-de-sac where children play freely and safely. The front yard looks and feels like a park and is big enough for volleyball, Thanksgiving celebrations, and weddings. We've had them all. The backyard is a bit of a Florida paradise, which includes a newly surfaced pool surrounded by an expansive wood-stained deck. The fully fenced-in backyard is very private and peaceful, where more family fun can be had. There is all the room you need for your children/grandchildren to play, dogs to romp, your boat to be parked, and any project you might think of. There is even a nice-sized chicken area for those who like fresh eggs, where my chickens are safe from critters. It does have a shed that can be used as a workshop. And, if you like star fruit, there is a beautiful tree that yields never-ending fruit. Our five-bedroom house has plenty of room for a very large family or many guests. The kitchen has new kitchen cabinet doors with stainless-steel appliances. The stove is gas. The kitchen is open to a large eating area where presently sits an eight-foot table. The downstairs bath is a full bathroom with a large slate shower. The family room is very spacious with a huge stone fireplace that we actually enjoy on the colder Florida nights. The walls are non-maintenance white washed pecky-cypress with a cedar ceiling. This room has been the hub of birthdays, weddings, and church groups for many years. We have a nice-sized living room next to an office or den, which we have in the past used as another bedroom. There are five bedrooms ready for your large family or guests galore. The master bedroom is very spacious with a full bathroom that has been newly remodeled. The upstairs guest/family bathroom was updated recently. The house is solidly built with a cement block first floor and a wood frame second floor. The roof has been recently replaced with a lifetime warranty that can be passed on to the new owners. There is no flood insurance needed for this home. It is close to the water but high and dry from storm surges.
What the owner loves about this home
The location and setting of this lovely home are what we have loved. It is comfortable and homey and has been the hub of our large family for many years.
