These soils support post oak, blackjack oak, and hickory in the uplands, as well as sand plum, Mexican plum, and redbud. Spring-fed draws support red oak, bur oak, chinquapin oak, pecan, and sycamore. These plants contribute to the ecological balance of the Tallgrass Prairie and Cross Timbers ecoregions.
