What the owner loves about this home
The view is amazing. This home sits on a bluff overlooking the Ohio River and the distance view of farmland of Kentucky.
I live in the middle of bird migration
especially the large flocks of geese that fly up and down the River.
This home has two nice patios for entertainment. I've hosted many social functions as well as fund raisers for political parties. We have had several State politicians and Congressmen here during the past 10 years.
This historic home was the location the Abe Lincoln started the movement for emancipation proclamation for the Slaves. He was around 19-21 yrs old at the time. I've been told that Lincoln spent many nights here after his flat boat watching the slave trade on his way to New Orleans. He came back and got off the steamboat at my home here in Rockport. He often spoke at the nearby tavern to speak against slavery, I'm told.
