    What's special

THE WHITE RAVEN PROPERTY is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, just south of the Village of Sidnaw, an unincorporated community in the southeastern part of Duncan Township, in Houghton County. This historic Village was the location of one of Henry Ford's first Upper Peninsula projects. During the late 1880s this was the center of his hardwood empire. Today it is known for its location within thousands of acres of the Ottawa National Forest. You can travel in almost any direction and find access to recreational activities. The Sturgeon River, Gorge, and Falls are nearby, and offer prime trout fishing. A section of the North County National Scenic Trail for hiking and backpacking, and the Deer Marsh Interpretive Hiking Trail are minutes away. Other trails for hiking are the Sturgeon Falls, Bears Den, and Pine Bluff Trails - and ORV/ATV trails abound in the area as well. Close by, is The Bergland to Sidnaw Rail Trail, a Multi-Use State Trail for foot, bike, ATV and horseback from Spring through Fall and for skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. Over 25,000 Snowmobilers travel along this trail annually. Access is nearby to the major UP east-west Snow Mobile Trail No. 8, which branches north to Trails No. 109 and 159. Just a quarter mile away from the property is access into the Ottawa National Forest. This 988,000 acre forest extends from Lake Superior to the Wisconsin border, and is filled with recreational opportunities like hiking, fishing, hunting, and observing wildlife and birds, waterfalls, old-growth forests, lakes, rivers, steams and wetlands. The nearby Grooms-Prickett Airport is the location of Labor Day Fly-Ins of rebuilt WWII planes. Two older camper trailers and sheds on the property were given no value, but maybe able to be improved for use. If you are seeking an inexpensive property to develop into your "jumping off point" for lots of U.P. North recreational opportunities, check this property out!
