Built in the late 70's and located just off Main Street, this 5 bed 1.75 bath is an ideal family home for those who need a little more space. Pet-friendly, every room boasts a tiled floor, making clean up a breeze. The kitchen is bright and accessible from the car port with big windows for natural light. There is plenty of space for a table big enough for the entire family while plenty of cabinets ensure you'll never run out of storage. The front room has a large south-facing window for plenty of sunshine without a big light fixture, making it ideal for cozy nights at home. A classic pocket door preserves space. The two bedrooms on the ground floor are spacious and located next to a beautiful wood-paneled bathroom with a tiled and OSHA-compliant shower. New shelves in the bathroom closet allow for even more storage. Downstairs, you will find a large play area with a shiplap ceiling and a stone wall where the old fireplace used to be. The three bedrooms downstairs vary in size though each comes with a paneled closet. The blue bedroom has a dimmer for the main light and a closet you could get lost in if you're bad with directions. The downstairs bathroom is also beautifully paneled and has an exhaust fan so you don't need to worry about excess moisture. The step-in shower is also OSHA compliant. The largest bedroom downstairs has a shiplap ceiling and 4 closets; ideal for an office or work-from-home situation. Cupboard doors on the wall give easy access to utilities running upstairs. The furthest bedroom features a corner closet and a partially tiled wall. Although located downstairs, each room has plenty of light with an overhead fixture and a window with plenty of access to light via a window well. The furnace room is large and well-laid out with plenty of shelving for storage and floor space for larger items. The closet under the stairs could theoretically hold a bed for those aspiring magic types, but has traditionally been used to hold a Christmas tree. The backyard is large and partially fenced in with a small shed, rotating clothesline, and a larger machine shed. The carport can fit two cars comfortably with more space in the driveway, along with a small shed with shelving on either side and electricity strong enough to power a deep freezer. RV parking is available via gravel along the east side. The roof is new; around eight months old.
What the owner loves about this home
I love that this home is located in the Gunnison Valley school district, a top performer in the county. The neighbors are friendly and it's close to the local soda shop and gas station. A large field the next block over keeps it from feeling too cramped. The neighbor on the east is a lovely older couple while the neighbor on the west is a vintage car collector. The large pine tree up front is absolutely lovely when decorated for Christmas. It's a home with a lot of character and unique features.
