The Wilkins House,1949. Richard Neutra, Architect. This masterpiece in the history of modern architecture was Neutra's opportunity to realize the unbuilt Case Study House #13, the Alpha House from 1947. On an oversized flag lot that spans three-quarters of an acre in bucolic South Pasadena, its mid-century elements epitomize Neutra's Modernism with deep, covered terrazzo terraces and enormous plate glass doors that slide open to blur the relationship between indoors and out.
