    Overview

INVESTMENT PROPERTY. Used to be a farm house, grandparents bought it in 1973 and turned one of the bedrooms into a library, turned the front porch into a sunroof and the back porch into a laundry room additions to the house, and did a lot of other upgrades. I moved back in with them to care for them in 2009 and updated the plumbing and electric and added outlets including outlets to the sunroom. Also added a door to upstairs landing to separate upstairs and downstairs. My grandfather passed in 2018 and then hurricane flourence hit us hard and I had to make repairs out of pocket. I had to refine the 30 foot chimney and add a new flu, replace the basement window and subpump, and repair the water heater. Spent 2018- 2022 caring for my grandmother who had dementia and severe sundowning. Did all this on my own so couldn't keep up with property upkeep well. Then hurricane helene came through and I had to pump the water out myself because restoration one and other companies were backed up for weeks. Replaced the heating components in the water heater, was in the middle of plumbing repairs/updates to the bathrooms but I'm just done. I can't keep putting money into a house I don't intend to keep. I have no family left here and want to move back home to Japan or Thailand so I need to stop putting money into repairs and get as much as I can for the house so I can move. There is a wood stove or an oil heater that could be hooked back up to the chimney since I did all the necessary repairs, but I was going to convert the heat source to gas because it's cheaper and I haven't used the oil heater since 2018 and couldn't say when the wood stove was last used. No central A/C and roof is 25 years old and took some storm damage. The barn took some damage and needs electrical work. I've since turned the electricity to the barn off. I had converted half the interior of the barn to an indoor chicken coop, but removed my chickens and let the new owner take their outdoor enclosure that was attached to the outside of the coop. Definitely needs cosmetic work, been through elderly and cats. Investment property as is which is why I'm listing in below the market value.
