Seeking a Roommate for a cool home in Greenlake If you are currently on the lookout for a fantastic place to call home, I have a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom house located in the north end of Greenlake, off exit 172 on I-5. About the place - basics: - The home offers two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, one of which is a larger room. - Green lake is an 8 minute walk from the house, which is great for a multitude of recreational activities. - The total rent is $2,675, and we'll be splitting it at $1400 and $1275, with me taking the larger room. - Costs of electricity, water, sewage, and internet will be split evenly. - Parking is conveniently available on the street. - While we can technically park in the driveway, given the older design the spacing is quite narrow. About the place - additional info: - The house has a wonderful backyard with rhododendrons, fig trees, a plum tree, and space to grow your own produce (if that interests you). - The house would be minimally furnished in the common areas, as most of the furniture belongs to the outgoing roommate who is moving in with his girlfriend. - Your room will not be furnished. - Occasionally, our friendly landlords may work on some home-building projects in the basement (~1-2 weeks a year; none in the last year). - We share the space in the basement with the landlords, it is primarily used for storage of bikes and some recreational goods (I have a motorcycle in there). About me: - I am a mid-thirties male with a fairly relaxed personality. - I'd be the only person living in the house besides you, barring any occasional visitors. - I work as a consultant, so in the new world, I typically work from home. - My interests include playing and watching soccer; karting, being the closest experience to F1, motorcycling, scuba diving, and more recently, skiing. - I also make it a point to embark on leisure trips a few times a year. Landlord's requirements: - A stable income is crucial, and the landlords will conduct a background check and income verification as part of the application process. - Please note that you'll be responsible for the background check fee, regardless of the outcome; it was ~$40 when I did it. - Reference from prior landlord. - No pets are allowed in the house. - We'll be sharing the responsibility of taking care of the plants in the backyard, they need watering in the summer months. - We are also responsible for mowing the lawn; we have a lawn-mower available. Roommate preferences (personality or otherwise): - I am looking to have an individual for a roommate, not a couple. - Open to both male and female roommates, preferably in their thirties (though it isn't a hard requirement). - Cleanliness is highly valued, especially in the common areas. - Given my remote work arrangement, it's ideal if you worked from your workplace or hybrid; though this isn't major, the current roommate and I both work from home. - It would be great to have some shared interests to enhance our rapport. - While I'm not expecting us to be inseparable, fostering a positive and friendly roommate relationship is important to me. Creating a comfortable and harmonious living environment is my goal, so I prefer someone who enjoys spending time outside of their room and engaging. Move-in Date plus Lease Info: November 16, 2024 (or 2nd half of November) would be the preferred move-in date, else December 1, 2024. You will be able to start moving stuff in the week prior, as my current roommate moves out through the first part of November. The current lease would run through August 31st, 2025. You are expected to have passed the landlord's requirements before moving in and will have to pay the first month, last month, and security deposit upfront.
