Introducing Listing Connect

At Zillow, our mission is to give people the power to unlock life’s next chapter. For home shoppers, that means the most up-to-date listings, tools and services to make moving easier than ever. 

As part of streamlining our operations and services, Zillow is also simplifying the way we collect listing data, moving from thousands of disparate data feeds to MLS Internet Data Exchange (IDX) feeds, which are offered directly through MLSs to their members. This change will result in better data, more comprehensive listings and streamlined transactions for customers — and exclusive, high-intent leads will still be sent directly to you in the same way.

For builders, this change will require all spec homes (move-in ready or in-development properties) that use Promoted Communities to be listed in an MLS in order to display alongside for-sale-by-agent listings on Zillow.  

We want to make it simple and easy for you to partner with us. In order to offer new-home buyers the most comprehensive selection of homes, we’re excited to provide multiple options we believe are good for both builders and home shoppers.

Many builder spec homes are published to an MLS already. In these cases, builders can use Zillow’s new Listing Connect tool to quickly and seamlessly connect their MLS-published homes with their Promoted Communities on Zillow by entering the name of the MLS, the spec home’s MLS Listing ID, and Community Name in their New Home Feed account or direct feed. 

Builders will continue to have leads sent directly to them and to have access to the marketing tools and reporting to help them optimize their Zillow advertising.
