Maximize Your Connections With My Agent

In this section, we’ll focus on how you can combine the Zillow Premier Agent CRM with exclusive My Agent relationships to close more deals.

When you have an active My Agent relationship, you benefit from:

  • Actionable information: Access info about the homes your lead views, saves and searches for on our sites, including a daily email summary of their activity for the past 24 hours and a real-time feed of data-driven insights about your most active clients (currently in beta).
  • Standout branding: Become the only buyer’s agent shown on the property listings your lead views on our sites.
  • Seamless communication: Your lead can contact you right from our sites’ property pages when they find a home they love or want to see in person.
  • Exclusive placement: Appear as your lead’s agent on any home-search email we send them from our sites.

We’ll start with how you get live connections — all of which come with a 30-day My Agent relationship — using the mobile app.

Getting live connections

When we call to ask if you’re available to be connected live with a home buyer, we have that buyer on the phone. 

If you accept the connection, we will send you a push notification to help you quickly prepare for your call, so be sure to enable push notifications on the Zillow Premier Agent mobile app.

Tapping the push notification opens a pre-connection screen, where you’ll see your connection’s name, their message (if any) and a summary of the property they’re inquiring about. 

Tap on the property to see more details, or touch the green bar at the top of the screen when you’re ready to speak with the home buyer. 

When you hang up after your conversation, close the pre-connection screen by tapping the X at the upper left. 

That will take you to your Zillow Premier Agent inbox, where we’ll have delivered more details on your connection. When you open the lead, you’ll find a recording of your call on the lead message panel.

We strongly recommend that you listen to the recording and take detailed notes while your conversation is still fresh.

Extending My Agent relationships

You automatically get a 30-day My Agent relationship with every connection you receive from us. 

To extend the benefits of your exclusive My Agent relationship beyond the initial 30 days, simply text your connection from the app or the desktop CRM. Every back-and-forth text exchange between you and your connection renews the relationship for another 30 days.

Another highly valuable way to keep a text conversation going is with AI-powered home recommendations. The texting tool on the Zillow Premier Agent app lets you tap into a list of homes your lead might like based on their Zillow or Trulia activity. 

Text your connection a home recommendation from that list and, when they respond, your exclusive My Agent relationship will be renewed for another 30 days.

Establishing one-year My Agent relationships

Using the Zillow Premier Agent CRM, you also have two options for establishing a one-year My Agent relationship.

The first option works for any of your leads from Zillow and Trulia with an email address, and it is to simply send them an invitation from the CRM.

To invite a lead to My Agent from your inbox on the mobile app:

  1. Open the lead.
  2. Tap the contact icon in the top bar. This takes you to your contact’s details, where you will see a callout to become their agent.
  3. Tap Get Started.
  4. Tap Send Email.

To invite a lead to My Agent from your inbox on desktop:

  1. Click the View Contact button. The button is on the right, on your contact’s profile. When you reach your contact’s details, you will see a callout to become their agent.
  2. Click Get Started.
  3. Click Send Email.

You can also invite your Zillow Premier Agent leads to My Agent from your contacts list, either on mobile or desktop. Once you open the lead that you want to invite to My Agent, the process is the same as above.

The second way to establish a year-long My Agent relationship works for any of your clients who are active on Zillow sites, even if they’re not a lead from us. Simply direct those leads to your agent profile on Zillow.com. There, they can click Add as your agent to create a one-year My Agent relationship with you.

If a lead is not from us, you must also add them to your Zillow Premier Agent CRM to access the exclusive insights and benefits of My Agent. Luckily, it’s simple to connect more than 30 of the most popular lead sources to the CRM. 

To see a complete list of the third-party lead sources we support, along with instructions on how to connect them to your Zillow Premier Agent CRM:

  1. Open the Settings menu, either on the mobile app or the desktop CRM. 
  2. Tap Third-party lead sources if you’re on the mobile app. On desktop, click on Lead Sources from the list at the left side of the screen.

Taking notes and updating lead profiles

The Zillow Premier Agent CRM provides easy-to-use tools for capturing critical information about your leads and connections. 

Updating your clients’ information immediately after important conversations can help you:

  • Tailor communication plans to individual clients.
  • Segment and effectively nurture your entire pipeline.

Using the CRM to take notes is a sure-fire way to stay ready to engage with your leads. Even if you haven’t talked with a lead for some time, your notes can help you pick up the conversation right where you left off. 

To take notes about a lead starting from the inbox of the mobile app:

  1. Open the lead.
  2. Tap the contact icon in the top row. This takes you to their profile.
  3. Tap Add Note on the left side of the screen. (You may need to scroll down to see that text.)
  4. Enter your note.
  5. Tap Save at the upper right.

To add a note from your inbox on desktop:

  1. Click the View Contact button. This is on the right, on the contact’s profile.
  2. Enter your note in the Notes box.
  3. Click the Save button.

You can also add a note from your contacts list on either mobile or desktop. Once you open the contact, the process is the same as above.

In addition to taking detailed notes, we strongly recommend that you update your lead’s status and timeframe to move every time they change. These indicate the strength of your lead’s motivation, and they’ll ultimately enable you to segment and nurture your pipeline.  

To update a lead’s status on the Zillow Premier Agent mobile app:

  1. Open the contact’s profile, either from the inbox or your contacts list.
  2. Tap their current status.
  3. Select a new status. 
  4. Add a note, then tap Save at the upper right.

To update a lead’s time frame to move on desktop:

  1. Open the contact’s profile, either from the inbox or your contacts list.
  2. Click Edit on the Insights menu.
  3. Select a new time frame.
  4. Push the Save button.
