Finding a good tenant to rent your property can be tough, and tenant screening is a time-consuming process. Sometimes interested renters don’t meet your qualifications. Other times, a qualified renter doesn’t stand out among all the other leads.

Zillow’s Renter Profile can help.

Created to benefit both renters and landlords, Renter Profile collects important information about your prospective tenant and delivers it right to your inbox. Then you can easily prescreen leads and determine if you want to move forward and arrange a tour.

Rental home shoppers have two ways to opt in: by creating a Renter Profile on Zillow or a Rental Resume on Trulia. Renters enter their contact details and qualifying information, such as number of pets, when they want to move in, employment status and credit score.

When they contact you about your property, this information shows up in your Zillow Rental Manager inbox. It’s then up to you to follow your processes and procedures to comply with the Fair Housing Act and other laws. You can further simplify tenant applications, screenings, rent payments and lease agreements with Zillow Rental Manager.

Renter Profile helps renters stand out from the rest of the home-shopping crowd. Our research shows that finding a rental is a fast, competitive and very stressful process. Rental home shoppers spend an average of 2.5 months searching, during which they typically contact 4.5 landlords or property managers and submit 2.5 applications. By submitting their Renter Profile or Rental Resume, renters can capture your attention and signal that they’re qualified and ready to sign a lease.

Over 9 million renters have created a Renter Profile or Rental Resume, and more than 50 percent of leads shared Renter Profile information.* With increased transparency and important qualifying information upfront, you can fill your vacancy quickly and confidently.
