My Notes

Edit
Frank Lloyd Wright Jr. had a vision to design an affordable quality home employing the characteristic elements of his father s Usonian houses and the Dorland home was created! The innovative design captivates you from the street and draws you in to explore it s stunning architectural detailing. Mr. Dorland said it best in a letter to Lloyd when he wrote, It isn t like living, it s like being on vacation. This sense of serenity was achieved as Lloyd created this home to blend seamlessly with it s natural surroundings and used organic materials throughout it s design stimulating the senses with uncommon beauty.Just beyond the front door lies an awe inspiring living room where Lloyd used complimentary stains on large sections of wood panels to create a one-of-a-kind diamond pattern backdrop for the beamed ceilings.Walls of glass and rose colored block walls rise from polished concrete floors up to meet the ceilings in every room. The wall of glass doors in the living room and master bedroom collapse into each other, creating a seamless transition into the thoughtfully planned sylvan yard. Lloyd pulled the rose colored block and diamond pattern elements from the house and used them throughout the landscape design of the pool and patios completing his vision.Mr.& Mrs. Dorland were gracious caretakers of this home for most of their lives and this honor has been passed down to only two other owners who have meticulously maintained and upgraded the home preserving Lloyd s vision.  More Less

    Market guide

Zillow predicts 91001 home values will decrease 0.1% next year, compared to a 0.2% fall for Altadena as a whole. Among 91001 homes, this home is valued 11.6% more than the midpoint (median) home, and is valued 28.9% more per square foot.

Foreclosures will be a factor impacting home values in the next several years. In 91001, the number of foreclosures waiting to be sold is 0.7% higher than in Altadena, and 26.7% greater than the national average.
