Have questions about Zillow 3D Home®? You're in the right place.
Here are a few tips before you start capturing a Zillow 3D Home tour:
Capture each panorama by holding your phone vertically in front of you, with your arms close to your chest. Start with the most interesting object in the room behind you, and slowly rotate to the right in a 360-degree circle. The app will guide your motion and prompt you to adjust your speed (it may tell you to slow down or pan back to the left to capture something that was missed). Turn on your heels and try not to step to the left or right. You can also use a tripod with a phone mount to keep your phone steady.
That’s OK. For some properties, especially new construction, an address may not exist yet. You can skip this step and add the address later under the My 3D Homes menu in the app or My 3D Homes on a computer. If you continue to have difficulty adding an address, our team can help you connect your tour to a listing — just email 3DHome@ZillowGroup.com.
Take at least one panorama for each room and connecting hallway, and shoot from the middle of the space. For larger areas, take two to three panoramas from different spots spaced as evenly as you can throughout the room. Make sure you have a clear view of your previous position from each new position. This helps the app to properly stitch your virtual tour together later.
Line of sight means a straight, unobstructed path between two panoramas. When you position the camera, you should be able to see the location of the next panorama you will capture. For example, take a panorama in the foyer, then another in the hallway in front of the foyer. The ideal capture distance is every 8-10 feet.
We encourage you to double check that you have captured all desired rooms and previewed each panorama by clicking on them inside the app before pressing Finish to avoid missing a room. It is possible to add a room and additional panoramas to a Zillow 3D Home tour after pressing Finish and the tour has finished processing. Click on My 3D Homes inside the app, find the tour, press the menu icon (•••), and select Add/remove panoramas, and add the missing room to your tour.
In the app the dashboard is under the “My 3D Homes” menu. If you’re on your computer, it’s called My 3D Homes. You can access or edit any of the tours you’ve taken from this dashboard.
These detailed instructions will walk you through how to edit your tour, whether you shot your panoramas on an iPhone or a 360-degree camera.
After creating a tour, it will take 24 hours for guide arrows to appear. If you need to add more arrows, select Edit tour. Click on the panorama to which you would like to add an arrow. In the thumbnail gallery, click on the blue “plus” symbol (+) in the corner of the panorama. Move the arrow to face it in the right direction, then press Save. These changes should be effective immediately.
For more help editing your tour, see these detailed instructions.
Once you’re done capturing all areas of the space, select Finish. If you’ve associated this tour with an address, log in to your Zillow Account Portal to publish your tour. Tours will appear within four hours.
If you did not associate this tour with an address, you’ll receive an email to edit the address in the 3D Home dashboard. This should process within four hours.
You can include a Zillow 3D Home tour on your listing for free — there are no per-home, service or hosting fees. If you choose to capture your tour with a 360 camera instead of a phone, you may purchase one directly from the manufacturer or through a third-party retailer.
The Zillow 3D Home® app is a free, easy way to create an immersive virtual tour that differentiates your listing and gives home shoppers the means to safely, efficiently and accurately evaluate a home. These 3D tours are published to a listing’s home details page on Zillow, letting potential buyers and renters walk through the home’s layout virtually and giving agents, sellers and property managers a powerful tool to market their listings online. Zillow 3D Home tours can also be shared to the MLS, social media, email, and over text.

Once the “All panoramas complete” button is selected, the Zillow 3D Home app begins a complex process that integrates all of the panoramas into a single, interactive VR home tour. Unfortunately, it is not possible to combine two Zillow 3D Home tours into a single tour.
Only photos that are captured and processed using the Zillow 3D Home app can be used to create a Zillow 3D Home tour. There is no import option for adding panoramas captured outside of the app.
Before you start capturing a Zillow 3D Home tour, make sure you have appropriate lighting, flow and a clean space. Here are a few tips:

We suggest capturing at least one panorama for each room and connecting hallway. For larger spaces, you’ll want to capture two to three panoramas. When you complete each capture, move to the next capture position by keeping a line of sight — and ensure you can see the previous location from your new location.

For example, take a panorama in the foyer, then another in the hallway in front of the foyer. The optimum capture distance is every 8-10 feet.
Once your Zillow 3D Home tour has been captured, you can choose to automatically publish the tour when it finishes processing. A 10-15 panorama tour should process within four hours with hand-held capture or within 30 minutes for 360 camera capture.
