Man on a Mission: A Wounded Veteran’s People-First Approach to Real Estate

Former Green Beret Levi Rodgers has a new mission: Use his real estate success to inspire some veterans in a new career and help others find homes.

Man on a Mission: A Wounded Veteran’s People-First Approach to Real Estate

One moment Green Beret Levi Rodgers was on patrol in Afghanistan with four of his men; the next, he was waking up after 45 days in a coma, the sole survivor of an IED attack. After a long recovery, Rodgers retired from the Army and settled in San Antonio. But the transition to civilian life was tough, and he struggled to find work.

Rodgers recalled a meeting he had with a real estate agent years earlier. The agent had given him “30 seconds of honesty” and talked him out of a bad housing decision. The encounter was something Rodgers never forgot — and provided the inspiration for him to start a career in real estate.

Today Rodgers leads a real estate team made up of veterans and military spouses who faced some of the same challenges he did when transitioning out of the military. He takes the lessons he learned in the Army and applies them to real estate, training his team members to always put people before the deal, offer something of value, and be who you are.

Rodgers’ new mission became one to serve those who served their country. His team continues to generate award-winning sales by serving a client base largely composed of former service men and women who are looking for homes. To date Rodgers’ brokerage, RE/MAX Military City, has generated more than $350M in total sales.

Levi credits his success as an agent to his ongoing partnership with Zillow. Read his case study to find out how becoming a Premier Agent has changed more lives than just his own.
