Understanding Your Listings on Zillow: The Essentials

Your sellers want their homes on Zillow because that’s where buyers shop. Lucky for you, advertising listings on Zillow is easy and doesn't cost a dime. Sure, you can get additional listing features as a Zillow Premier Agent®, but posting your listings is free. We even display you as the listing agent for no charge.

How do agents get listings on Zillow?

Zillow listings don’t just magically appear. All agents send listings to Zillow through either from brokerages or MLSs feeds.

Listing feeds exist to save agents time and headaches. They allow you to manage your listings in one place: At the source of your feed. After updating your listing at the source, your feed does the legwork by making those same updates everywhere it appears online. That means no more time spent clicking around 10 different websites to make listing edits.

Syncing your listing feed with your profile

Connecting your listing feed to your Zillow profile can seem confusing, but it all comes down to you Agent MLS ID matching. Let me explain.

Listing feeds typically attach a unique Agent MLS ID to every listing sent to Zillow. So here’s the key: The MLS ID attached to your listings in your feed must match the MLS ID associated with your Zillow account. As long as they match, then your listings will automatically sync.

If your listing feed isn’t syncing with your account, first make sure that your Agent MLS ID matches what is in the MLS. If you still have problems, get in touch with your brokerage, MLS or feed service to figure out the details of how your feed is set up.

If you’re still having trouble syncing your listings:

  • Contact your brokerage, MLS or local association and request that they get in touch with Zillow for help.

Getting ahead with your listings as a Zillow Premier Agent

After working out details with your sellers, you can post Coming Soon Listings before they hit the market to gauge buyer interest. As a Zillow Premier Agent, you can get a head start on your marketing and sell homes faster.
