Zillow Real Estate Training: Make Me Move & FSBO Listings

Written by on March 10, 2014

Tight inventory? Have a ready, willing and able buyer but just can't seem to find that perfect home for sale?

Take a look at Zillow's 'non-listed inventory' such as 'Make Me Move' (MMM) and For Sale By Owner (FSBO) listings. Since time immemorial real estate agents have 'worked FSBO's' to find potential listings, and that probably won't ever change. But another use for knowing the FSBO inventory is that it opens up new possibilities for finding homes for your buyers -- and that is particularly helpful in the tight inventory markets like much of the country is currently experiencing.

Make Me Move homes are another source for locating potential inventory. While no Make Me Move price is binding, and some folks set Make Me Move prices that aren't exactly realistic, there are many home owners that have set a Make Me Move price that might seriously consider selling, particularly if you bring a qualified buyer. If nothing else, it's an opening to a conversation with home owners about potentially selling their home.

Several articles on FSBOs and 'MMMs' have been penned here. Feel free to peruse these articles and add those FSBO and Make Me Move properties to your pool of available inventory, bring those buyers and sell them a home!
