They took a little longer than I would have liked to respond. When they did via email they said self guided tours were available and to fill out a contact card and submit on the website. There was no website included to submit the contact card I emailed them again to ask for the website I was told I can reply to the email and include the contact card. They asked for phone # address and other information. Once I sent the contact card with all my information on it they called me saying the deposit has been doubled because of covid19. There was no mention of this in the listing on Zillow or the other pages this property is listed on. A security deposit of $3650 is beyond ridiculous but what is more ridiculous is that they wait until they have all your information to sell who knows where to tell you about it. When I asked the reason why it was so high and why it wasn’t disclosed before I was given an answer that left me speechless. I was told the emails have not been updated with that information but never why. how is a possible they had three different opportunities to tell me so I was also told that the reason for the increase was because the courts are closed. so because they’re unable to evict people that are unable to pay rent in this terrible time they’re charging people that want to move in double the amount on a deposit. I was told that the additional deposit would be returned after The state of California was completely re-opened. The entire conversation with the person I spoke to left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. I felt as if I was being swindled out of additional money and I don’t believe that it would ever be returned. These people are completely dishonest. Having to find a new place to live with everything going on in the world is stressful enough. People should not be treated this way. I feel terrible for the people who already live there and have to deal with shady dishonest people.
