Interestingly, Woodcliffe Manor is situated on the site of the historic Woodcliffe estate, once the country home of Richard Capron, a pioneering figure in the development of Roland Park. In 1944, the estate was sold to Johns Hopkins University, which utilized the property as a residence for four of its esteemed presidents. Following a change in ownership, the original Woodcliffe estate was reimagined, giving rise to the beautiful garden apartments that exist today. An adjacent property, also part of Capron's original estate, was once home to a stunning mansion owned by John C. Legg.
