The midrise and townhome buildings of Phase One of The Homes at Old Colony achieved Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Councils LEED for Homes rating system, the highest level of certification possible. The on-site Joseph M. Tierney Learning Center achieved Gold certification under the LEED for New Construction rating system. All Phase Two buildings are currently seeking certification under the LEED for Homes rating system and expect to achieve Platinum certification. Aside from being good for the environment, the green design also means lower energy costs for our residents. The Homes at Old Colony are outfitted with sleek Energy Star-rated appliances including a refrigerator, dishwasher, and washing machines. There is a convenient community laundry suite in the midrise building as well as washers and dryers in the townhomes. This non-smoking community also offers elevator access in the midrise building along with some excellent amenities such as an extensive Resident Services program and onsite Learning Center with a computer room and multiple other community programs.
