    He seemed friendly through the emails he sent, but I never met him. I had to tour the apartment myself.

    The place had a few things that needed fixing. The stove didn't have a handle on the oven, which wasn't safe. There was still mold in the freezer. There wasn't a lid on the toilet basin. He sounded willing to fix these problems, but he shouldn't have had to be told.
